Description
A)7.5wt%のCoと1.8wt%のTiCと0.5wt%のTiNと3wt%のTaCと0.4wt%のNbCと残部WCを含む形式CNMG120408−PMの超硬切削インサートは、従来のCVD法を用いて930℃で1μm厚みのTiN層で、そして引き続いて5μmのTiCN層で、MTCVD法を使用して、処理ガスとしてTiCl4、H2、N2及びCH3CNを用いて、700℃の温度で被覆された。同一被覆サイクル中のその後の処理工程において、約0.5μmのTi(C、O)の層が、1000℃で堆積され、その後反応器は、2μmの厚みのα−Al2O3層が本発明の被覆処理条件に従って堆積される690℃のアルゴン雰囲気の冷却する前に、2%のCO2と5%のHClと93%のH2との混合物で2分間洗浄された。蒸着行程の際の処理条件は以下のとおりである。

Claims (9)
- 焼結した超硬合金、サーメット、セラミックまたは高速度鋼、或いは立方晶窒化ボロンまたはダイヤモンドのような超硬質材料の基体、及び
少なくとも該基体の表面の機能する部分上に、0.5〜10μmの厚みを有する結晶質α−Al2O3から成る少なくとも1層を含む硬質及び耐磨耗性の被膜を有する切削工具であって、
前記結晶質α−Al2O3層が、0.1〜1.1μmの平均粒幅の柱状粒を有し且つ625〜800℃の温度で化学蒸着によって堆積させられていることを特徴とする切削工具。 - 前記被膜が、885℃未満の温度で中温度化学蒸着法によって前記基材と前記α−Al2O3層の間に堆積された0.5〜10μmの厚みのTi(C、N)から成る少なくとも1層を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の切削工具。
- 前記被膜が、X+Y+Z≧1及びZ>0であり0.1〜1.5μmのTiCXNYOZの中間層を、前記α−Al2O3層と中温度化学蒸着法TiCN層との間に含むことを特徴とする請求項2記載の切削工具。
- 前記被膜が、物理蒸着法またはプラズマアシスト化学蒸着法により堆積された切削工具の前記基体に隣接した少なくとも1層を含むことを特徴とする請求項1記載の切削工具。
- 前記被膜が、前記α−Al2O3層と物理蒸着法またはプラズマアシスト化学蒸着法による層との間に、X+Y+Z≧1及びZ>0であり0.1〜1.5μmのTiCXNYOZの中間層を含むことを特徴とする請求項4記載の切削工具。
- 前記被膜が、<0.5μmの粒幅の顕著な柱状粒組織を有することを特徴とする請求項4または5に記載の切削工具。
- 前記α−Al2O3層の1層が、少なくとも切削切刃線に沿う頂部可視層であることを特徴とする請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載の切削工具。
- すくい面上で且つ前記切刃線に沿う前記被膜が、測定される長さ5μmに渡って0.2μm未満の表面粗さ(Ra)にするために、表面粗さをブラシ加工またはブラスト加工によって滑らかにされたことを特徴とする請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載の切削工具。
- 前記工具は、切削インサート、中実炭化物ドリル、または炭化物エンドミルであることを特徴とする請求項1〜8のいずれか1項に記載の切削工具。
