1.Tlog2.5と表記し、セ氏温度で表される、粘度102.5ポイズに相当する温度。この温度はブッシング中のガラス温度に近い。
2.Tlog7.6と表記し、セ氏温度で表される、粘度107.6ポイズに相当する軟化温度、又はリトルトン軟化点。この値は繊維の耐熱性の指標であり、これら2つの温度値及びそれぞれの測定方法は当業者によく知られている。
3.体積画分が50%である繊維を含み、ビニルエステル樹脂(Dow Chemical Companyから販売されているDerakane 411−350(商品名))に基づいた複合材料を、室温で100時間、塩酸溶液(1N濃度のHCl)に浸漬した後の、3点曲げの破壊応力値。この応力はMPaで表され、酸腐蝕に対する繊維の耐性を特徴付ける。
Claims (10)
- その組成に、以下に規定する範囲(質量パーセントで表す)内で以下の構成成分が含まれることを特徴とするガラスストランド。
SiO2 58〜63
Al2O3 10〜16
CaO 16〜23未満
MgO 0.5〜3.5未満
Na2O+K2O+Li2O 0〜2
TiO2 1より大きいが1.4以下
B2O3 0〜1.5
Li2O 0〜0.4
ZnO 0〜0.4
MnO 0〜1
F 0〜0.5 - 前記SiO2含量が厳密に60%より大きいことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のガラスストランド。
- 前記TiO2含量が、1.1%以上、1.4%以下であることを特徴とする、請求項1又は2に記載のガラスストランド。
- 前記MgO含量が2.2〜2.8%の間にあることを特徴とする、請求項1〜3のいずれか1つに記載のガラスストランド。
- 前記無水ホウ酸(B2O3)含量が0.5%を超えないことを特徴とする、請求項1〜4のいずれか1つに記載のガラスストランド。
- その組成に、さらに酸化コバルト(CoO)が10〜100ppm含まれることを特徴とする、請求項1〜5のいずれか1つに記載のガラスストランド。
- 請求項1〜6のいずれか1つに規定するガラスストランドを含むことを特徴とする、ガラスストランド、並びに有機及び/又は無機材料からなる複合材料。
- 請求項1〜6のいずれか1つに規定するガラスストランドを含むことを特徴とする、排気系用の取付部品。
- 以下に規定する範囲(質量パーセントで表す)内で以下の構成成分を含む、ガラス強化ストランドを製造するのに適したガラス組成物。

F 0〜0.5 - 1つ以上のブッシングの基部に配置した、多数のオリフィスから発する多数の溶融ガラス流から、連続フィラメントを1つ以上のウェブ形状に繊細化し、及び該フィラメントを動いている支持体上に集められる1つ以上のストランドに集束する工程を含み、該ブッシングへ供給する該溶融ガラスが請求項9に記載の組成を有する、ガラスストランドの製造方法。
