なお、この式において、反射ピーク強度については単斜晶の(111)をIm(111),単斜晶の(11−1)をIm(11-1),正方晶の(111)をIt(111),立方晶の(111)をIc(111)として表す。
また、本発明のジルコニア質焼結体は、電圧減衰時間が0.02〜0.1秒であることが好ましい。これにより、このジルコニア質焼結体を用いた、例えばピンセットや真空吸着ノズルから静電気を適度な速度で逃がすことが可能となり、ワークであるチップ状の電子部品や磁気ヘッドの搬送時間を短縮できるので、静電気除去作用を必要とする用途に好適に使用することができる。特に、チップ状の電子部品を回路基板に実装するために用いる電子部品装着機の部品である真空吸着ノズルに用いれば、市場要求の高い実装速度の向上に応えることができるので好適である。なお、本発明のジルコニア質焼結体の電圧減衰時間は、IEC61340−5−1に準拠して、3×4×50mmの角柱状の試料を切り出して、この試料の一方を1000Vで荷電した静電容量が20pFのプレート(シシド静電気(株)製:CHARGED PLATE MONITOR Model:H0601)と接触させ、他方を金属接触によって接地(アース)し、1000Vから100Vに低下するまでの時間を高周波オシロスコープ(横河電機(株)製:DL1620 200MHz Oscilloscope)で読み取ることにより測定することができる。
まず、原材料として、安定化剤であるY2O3を2mol%含む平均粒径が0.7μmのジルコニア粉末と、平均粒径が1.1μmの酸化鉄,平均粒径が0.7μmの酸化クロムおよび平均粒径が0.6μmの酸化チタンの粉末とを用意し、表1および表2の組成となるように秤量した。次に、ジルコニア粉末と、鉄,クロムおよびチタンの酸化物の粉末とのそれぞれに溶媒である水を加え、ボールミルに入れて粉砕し、ジルコニア粉末を粉砕した第1のスラリーと、鉄,クロムおよびチタンの酸化物の粉末を粉砕した第2のスラリーとを得た。

また、ジルコニア質焼結体の加工性を確認するために、ジルコニア質焼結体の表面の単斜晶の比率を確認した。ジルコニア質焼結体の表面をX線回折測定し、下記式で求めた。

また、ジルコニア質焼結体の平均結晶粒径については、以下の手順で求めた。まず、ジルコニア質焼結体の任意の面をダイヤモンド砥粒を用いて研磨加工して鏡面とした後、この面に燐酸により数10秒程度エッチング処理を行なった。次に、走査型電子顕微鏡(SEM)を用いて、エッチング処理した面のうちで任意の場所を選び、倍率を5000倍で撮影した5μm×8μmの範囲の画像を得た。そして、この画像を「Image-Pro Plus」という画像解析ソフト(日本ビジュアルサイエンス(株)製)を用いて解析することにより、ジルコニアの平均結晶粒径、ならびに鉄,クロムおよびチタンの酸化物の平均結晶粒径を求めた。
次に、ジルコニア粉末として、実施例1に記載のY2O3を2mol%含む平均粒径が0.7μmのジルコニア粉末と、平均粒径が0.7μmのジルコニア粉末と、平均粒径1μmのCeO2(酸化セリウム)粉末とを用意し、イットリウムの化合物の安定化剤を含むジルコニア(表5には、Y−Zrと記載)と、セリウムの化合物の安定化剤を含むジルコニア(表5には、Ce−Zrと記載)とが表5の比率となるように秤量した。また、鉄,クロムおよびチタンの酸化物の添加量は、実施例1の試料No.30と同様とした。そして、実施例1と同様の条件で作製することにより、試料No.50〜56の本発明のジルコニア質焼結体を得た。
実施例1の試料No.31の試料を作製したときと同様の条件で成形まで行なった。次に、この成形体を大気雰囲気中で1250℃,1300℃,1350℃,1450℃,1500℃の温度で2時間保持して焼成することにより、試料No.57〜61のジルコニア質焼結体を得た。そして、実施例1と同様にして、ジルコニア質焼結体を鏡面加工した面をジルコニア結晶相中の正方晶および立方晶の比率,平均結晶粒径,3点曲げ強度,破壊靱性値,体積固有抵抗値,電圧減衰時間および表面のCIE1976L*a*b*色空間における明度指数L*の値,クロマティクネス指数a*およびb*の値を測定した。それぞれの結果について、表7に組成,焼成温度,ジルコニアの結晶相および平均結晶粒径を示し、表8に特性値を示す。

- 安定化剤を含むジルコニアが66〜90質量部と、鉄,クロムおよびチタンの酸化物が合わせて10〜34質量部とからなり、
鉄,クロムおよびチタンの酸化物のうち鉄の酸化物の比率が70〜99.5質量%、クロムの酸化物の比率が0.4〜20質量%、チタンの酸化物の比率が0.1〜10質量%であり、
ジルコニア結晶相中の正方晶および立方晶の比率が合わせて90%以上であるとともに、
ジルコニアの平均結晶粒径が0.3〜0.5μmであり、鉄,クロムおよびチタンの酸化物の平均結晶粒径が0.5〜2.0μmであることを特徴とするジルコニア質焼結体。 - 3点曲げ強度が950MPa以上であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のジルコニア質焼結体。

鉄,クロムおよびチタンの酸化物のうち鉄の酸化物の比率が70〜99.5質量%、クロムの酸化物の比率が0.4〜20質量%、チタンの酸化物の比率が0.1〜10質量%となるように、鉄,クロムおよびチタンを酸化物換算で合わせて10〜34質量部秤量し、溶媒を加えて平均粒径が0.1〜0.5μmの範囲となるまで粉砕して第2のスラリーとする工程と、
前記第1のスラリーと前記第2のスラリーとを混合し、バインダを加えて乾燥して顆粒を得る工程と、
該顆粒を用いて成形体を得る工程と、
該成形体を1300〜1450℃の酸化雰囲気で焼成する工程と
を備えていることを特徴とするジルコニア質焼結体の製造方法。
