Claims (19)
- 炭化水素を主体とする原燃料を改質する改質装置であって、
前記改質装置は、前記原燃料を流通させる原燃料通路を有し且つ改質触媒が充填又は担持される改質室と、
前記改質室の上流側に設けられ、前記原燃料を前記原燃料通路に均等に供給するための供給室と、
前記改質室の下流側に設けられ、前記原燃料を前記原燃料通路から均等に排出するための排出室と、
を備え、
前記原燃料通路は、前記原燃料の流れ方向を反転させる反転部を有するとともに、
前記原燃料通路には、互いに通路断面積の異なる複数の通路領域が、前記原燃料の流れ方向上流側から下流側に向かって順次設けられ、
前記複数の通路領域の各々に、前記改質触媒が充填又は担持され、
下流側の前記通路領域の通路断面積が上流側の前記通路領域の通路断面積よりも小さく設定されることを特徴とする改質装置。 - 請求項1記載の改質装置において、前記原燃料通路は、少なくともいずれかの前記反転部を挟んで前記通路断面積が変更されるように構成されることを特徴とする改質装置。
- 請求項1又は2記載の改質装置において、前記改質装置は、筒状のケーシングを備え、
前記原燃料通路は、前記ケーシングの軸方向に延在するとともに、

- 請求項4又は5記載の改質装置において、前記熱媒体通路の上流側は、前記原燃料通路の供給室側に設定されることを特徴とする改質装置。
- 請求項4又は5記載の改質装置において、前記熱媒体通路の上流側は、前記原燃料通路の排出室側に設定されることを特徴とする改質装置。
- 請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載の改質装置において、前記改質装置は、前記排出室に連通する排出口を有し、
最下流側の前記反転部は、前記排出口よりも下方に設定されることを特徴とする改質装置。 - 請求項1〜8のいずれか1項に記載の改質装置において、前記反転部は、偶数に設定されることを特徴とする改質装置。
- 請求項9記載の改質装置において、前記改質装置は、前記供給室に連通する供給口を有し、
前記供給口は、前記排出口よりも下方に設定されることを特徴とする改質装置。 - 請求項1〜8のいずれか1項に記載の改質装置において、前記反転部は、奇数に設定されることを特徴とする改質装置。
- 請求項1〜11のいずれか1項に記載の改質装置において、前記原燃料通路は、前記通路断面積が上流側から下流側に向かって連続的に減少することを特徴とする改質装置。
- 請求項1〜11のいずれか1項に記載の改質装置において、前記原燃料通路は、前記通路断面積が前記反転部を挟んで上流側から下流側に向かって段階的に減少することを特徴とする改質装置。
- 請求項1〜13のいずれか1項に記載の改質装置において、前記原燃料通路は、最大通路断面積部分を流れる前記原燃料の最大流量時の流速と、最小通路断面積部分を流れる前記原燃料の最小流量時の流速とは、同一流速になるように設定されることを特徴とする改質装置。
- 請求項13又は14記載の改質装置において、前記原燃料通路は、それぞれ前記通路断面積が異なる複数の通路領域を有するとともに、
複数の前記通路領域は、互いに同一の容積に設定されることを特徴とする改質装置。 - 請求項1〜15のいずれか1項に記載の改質装置において、前記改質装置は、少なくとも前記供給室と前記改質室とを仕切る第1網目状部材、又は前記改質室と前記排出室とを仕切る第2網目状部材のいずれかを備えることを特徴とする改質装置。
- 請求項1〜16のいずれか1項に記載の改質装置において、前記改質装置は、燃料電池用改質装置であることを特徴とする改質装置。
- 請求項1〜17のいずれか1項に記載の改質装置において、前記改質装置は、固体酸化物形燃料電池用改質装置であることを特徴とする改質装置。
- 請求項4〜18のいずれか1項に記載の改質装置において、前記熱媒体は、固体酸化物形燃料電池からの排ガスであることを特徴とする改質装置。
