Description
本発明は、触媒被覆を、固形として及び/又はキャリヤー液中で溶解された形で、触媒構成成分を含有する触媒懸濁液を使用して、セラミック製の流通ハニカム体の細孔中へ導入することができる方法に関する。被覆されたハニカム体は、有利には自動車排気ガスの脱硫のために使用される。
a)ハニカム体の2つの端面と、それぞれの場合において開いている及び閉じている領域を有する穴あきマスクとを接触する工程、その際前記該穴あきマスクが、一方の端面上の穴あきマスクの開いている領域が、他方の端面上の穴あきマスクの閉じている領域と向かい合うように配置され、
b)触媒懸濁液を、ハニカム体の一方の端面上の穴あきマスクを介して、該懸濁液が他方の端面上の穴あきマスクを介して出るまで、導入する工程、
c)あらゆる過剰の触媒懸濁液を吹き出す又は吸い出す工程、
d)穴あきマスクとの接触を解除する工程、並びに
e)被覆されたハニカム体をか焼する工程
を有する。
図1は、被覆法を実施するための被覆装置を示し、
図2は、下方及び上方の加工物ホルダーを有するハニカム体を示し、
図3は、実施例による下方の加工物ホルダーの穴あきマスクを示し、
図4は、実施例による上方の加工物ホルダーの穴あきマスクを示す。
コージエライトからなり、かつPt/酸化アルミニウム酸化触媒を有するハニカム体を、従来の方法で被覆した。該ハニカム体は、次の性質を有した:
直径: 12cm
長さ: 7cm
セル密度: 62cm-2
平均細孔直径: 25μm
比較例と同様の特性を有する他のハニカム体を、本発明の方法によって比較例の触媒懸濁液で被覆した。
Claims (10)
- 開放細孔構造を有する流路壁によって互いに分離された複数の並行流路が2つの端面間に延びているセラミック製の流通ハニカム体の細孔中に触媒被覆を導入する方法であって、前記被覆を、キャリヤー液中に懸濁させた固体を含む触媒懸濁液を使用して実施する方法において、
a)ハニカム体の2つの端面と、それぞれの場合において開いている及び閉じている領域を有する穴あきマスクとを接触する工程、その際前記該穴あきマスクは、一方の端面上の穴あきマスクの開いている領域が、他方の端面上の穴あきマスクの閉じている領域と向かい合うように配置され、
b)触媒懸濁液を、ハニカム体の一方の端面上の穴あきマスクを介して、該懸濁液が他方の端面上の穴あきマスクを介して出るまで、導入する工程、
c)あらゆる過剰の触媒懸濁液を吹き出す又は吸い出す工程、
d)穴あきマスクとの接触を解除する工程、並びに
e)被覆されたハニカム体をか焼する工程
によって特徴付けられる方法。 - 前記の2つの穴あきマスクの開いている及び閉じている領域が、格子間隔を有する種々のパターンで配列されることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記の穴あきマスクの開いている及び閉じている領域の面が、多数の流路を覆うことを特徴とする、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 該穴あきマスクの開いている領域が、円径、正方形、長方形、六角形又はスリット形であることを特徴とする、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 該穴あきマスクの開いている及び閉じている領域が、流路の断面積に匹敵し、かつ被覆中に該流路が交互に閉じられるように配置されることを特徴とする、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 該穴あきマスクが、プラスチックからなることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 該穴あきマスクが、該マスクとハニカム体との間の液体の流出を防ぐように、該マスクがハニカム体の端面と接触する側面上で、弾塑性膜で積層されていることを特徴とする、請求項4に記載の方法。
- 前記ハニカム体が、平均細孔直径10〜50μmで30〜90%の範囲の多孔率を有することを特徴とする、請求項1から7までのいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記懸濁液の固体の粒子サイズd90が、前記ハニカム体の細孔の平均細孔直径より小さいことを特徴とする、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記の触媒懸濁液が、工程b)における圧入、ポンプ圧入、又は吸引によってハニカム体中に導入されることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の方法。
