この例では、検出器要素D1〜D14が、測定方向Xに沿ってコード要素C1,C2,C3の1つの部分領域A,Bの半分の長さに相当する間隔で配置されている。このことから、4つの検出器対が、1つのコード要素C1,C2,C3を走査する走査ユニットAEに対するコードCの相対位置ごとの差動走査によって構成される。図4a〜4dに関しては、例えばコード要素C1を走査するために、トリガー要素T1〜T4の出力信号に対応する検出器要素D1−D3(図4a),D2−D4(図4b),D3−D5(図4c)及び(図4d)が構成される。さらにトリガー要素T1〜T12は、4つのグループに区分され得る。この場合、少なくとも1つのグループが、コードCに対する走査ユニットAEの各相対位置でその時のコード語CWを出力する。図4a〜図4dに応じて、第1グループは、トリガー要素T1,T5,T9から構成され、第2グループは、トリガー要素T2,T6,T10から構成され、第3グループは、トリガー要素T3,T7,T11から構成され、そして第4グループは、トリガー要素T4,T8,T12から構成される。評価ユニットBWは、出力が少なくとも又は全体で誤差信号Fを有さず、これらの出力を位置測定の結果つまりコード語CWとして出力するそれぞれのグループを確認する。

Claims (7)
- 1つのコード(C)と1つの走査装置(AE)とを有するエンコーダであって、
前記コード(C)は、測定方向(X)に前後して配置された連続する複数のコード要素(C1,C2,C3)から構成され、当該個々のコード要素(C1,C2,C3)が、マンチェスターコードを有し、前後して続く少なくとも2つの前記コード要素(C1,C2,C3)がそれぞれ、1つの位置情報を有する1つのコード語(CW)を生成し、
前記走査装置(AE)が、1つのコード語(CW)を生成する前記コード(C)の少なくとも2つのコード要素(C1,C2,C3)を読み取るための複数の検出器要素(D1〜D14)付きの1つの検出器ユニット(D)を有し、且つ、前記走査装置(AE)が、1つの評価装置(AW)を有し、この評価装置(AW)内では、実際の位置情報を有する前記コード語(CW)が、これらの検出器要素(D1〜D14)の走査信号(S)から算出可能であり、前記走査装置(AE)と前記コード(C)とが、測定方向(X)に互いに相対移動するように配置されている当該エンコーダにおいて、
移行領域内に同じ特性を有する互いに隣接する前記複数のコード要素(C1,C2,C3)間に、当該同じ特性を補完する特性を有する分離要素(U1,U2)が挿入されていることを特徴とするエンコーダ。 - 前記評価装置(AW)は、測定方向(X)に直接前後して続くそれぞれの偶数の検出器要素(D2,D4,D6,D8,D10,D12,D14)と測定方向(X)に直接前後して続くそれぞれの奇数の検出器要素(D1,D3,D5,D7,D9,D11,D13)とからのアナログの走査信号(S)の差を作るための複数のトリガー要素(T1〜T12)を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のエンコーダ。
- 前記トリガー要素(T1〜T12)は、誤差検査装置(P)を有し、前記走査信号(S)の差を1つの比較値(V)と数値比較し、この比較値(V)を数値的に下回った時に1つの誤差信号(F)を出力するために、前記誤差検査装置(P)が構成されていることを特徴とする請求項2に記載のエンコーダ。
- 前記評価装置(AW)は、1つの評価ユニット(BW)をさらに有し、前記トリガー要素(T1〜T12)が、前記走査信号(S)の差に応じて1つの論理値及び/又は前記誤差信号(F)をこの評価ユニット(BW)に対して出力し、この評価ユニット(BW)内では、コード語(CW)が、これらの位置情報に基づいて算出可能であることを特徴とする請求項3に記載のエンコーダ。
- 前記評価ユニット(BW)内では、複数のグループ(T1,T5,T9;T2,T6,T10;T3,T7,T11;T4,T8,T12)が、前記トリガー要素(T1〜T12)の入力信号から構成されていて、前記コード語(CW)が、最小限の前記誤差信号(F)を有するグループ(T1,T5,T9;T2,T6,T10;T3,T7,T11;T4,T8,T12)から算出可能であることを特徴とする請求項4に記載のエンコーダ。
- 1つの前記コード要素(C1,C2,C3)の両部分領域(A,B)が、互いに補完する光学特性を有することを特徴とする請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載のエンコーダ。
- 前記検出器要素(D1〜D14)は、1つの部分領域(A,B)の半分の長さに相当する間隔で測定方向(X)に配置されていることを特徴とする請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載のエンコーダ。
