Description
(1)リセット動作後に表示放電させるセルの選択を行い表示パネルに画像表示する放電式表示装置において、最初のリセットパルス印加後であってセルの選択前の期間に、該選択のための予備処理を行うパルスをセルの電極に印加する構成とする。

Claims (3)
- X電極とY電極と前記X電極及び前記Y電極に交差するアドレス電極とで構成され、複数のサブフィールドを用いて画像の表示を行うプラズマディスプレイ装置の駆動方法であって、
前記複数のサブフィールドのうち少なくとも1つは、表示セル内の電荷の制御を行うリセット期間と、前記Y電極にスキャンパルスを印加するとともに前記アドレス電極にアドレスパルスを印加して表示セルの選択を行うアドレス期間と、選択された表示セルを発光させるサステイン期間とを有し、
前記複数のサブフィールドのうち少なくとも1つのサブフィールドにおけるリセット期間では、直前のサブフィールドのサステイン期間において発光した表示セル及び発光しなかった表示セルの全ての表示セルにおいて書き込み放電を生じさせる全セル書き込み放電用パルスを前記X電極に複数回印加すると共に、
前記X電極に1回目に印加される前記全セル書き込み放電用パルスは前記X電極に2回目に印加される前記全セル書き込み放電用パルスよりもパルス幅が大きいことを特徴とするプラズマディスプレイ装置の駆動方法。 - 前記X電極に複数回印加される前記全セル書き込み放電用パルスは正極性であり、前記スキャンパルスは負極性であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置の駆動方法。
- 前記X電極に複数回印加される前記全セル書き込み放電用パルスは立上がりと立下がりにおいてそれぞれ放電を生じさせることを特徴とする請求項1または2のいずれかに記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置の駆動方法。
