Description
このため、前述したボール溝とボールとの接触楕円の形状を改善したものや(特許文献1)、サーキュラコンタクトとアンギュラコンタクトを組合わせたトラック形状の改善(特許文献2、3)では、6個ボールを有したDOJにおいて作動角の高角化を図りつつ十分な軽量コンパクト化を達成することが困難であることが分かった。
表1の項目1と2については、本発明品と従来品で差がない。これは、外輪外径の小径化に伴い、ボール径およびボールのピッチ円径も同じ比率で小さくしなければ、外輪肉厚が薄くなりすぎ、従来品と同等の強度が得られないためである。

項目1、2で分かるように、本発明はボール径とボールのピッチ円径を小さくして、外輪外径の小型化を図ったが、その場合、従来品と同等のボール接触角、接触率では面圧の上昇、あるいは接触楕円のボール溝内からのはみ出し(ボール溝肩部への乗り上げ)が生じ、耐久性の低下を招く。面圧の上昇は、剥離寿命の低下を招き、接触楕円の肩部への乗り上げは、ボール溝チャンファエッジ部の欠けを招く。
すなわち、ボール溝面圧および接触楕円のボール溝肩部への乗り上げ性は、4つの項目に関して、表2に示す傾向を有する。この表2に基づき、本発明品では、従来品と同等の耐久性が得られるように、ボール溝接触角、接触率を表1の項目3、4の範囲にシフトさせているのである。表1の項目3、4の範囲を上限側または下限側に外れると、いずれも、従来品と同等の耐久性が得られないことが判明した。
DOJタイプの等速自在継手では、外輪ボール溝と内輪ボール溝は、互いに軸方向に平行に形成されている。DOJが作動角をとる場合、ボールはケージオフセットにより作動角の二等分面内に保持され、等速性が維持される。ところで、ケージのオフセット量には最適値が存在する。ケージオフセット量の過小は作動性の低下を招く。これは、作動角付与時、ボールを作動角の角度二等分面内に案内するケージの案内力が減少し、DOJの作動性が悪くなり、また等速性が不安定になる。

Claims (2)
- 円筒状の内周面に6本の直線状ボール溝を軸方向に形成した外輪と、球面状の外周面に6本の直線状ボール溝を軸方向に形成するとともに中心部にシャフトを連結する連結穴を形成した内輪と、外輪のボール溝と内輪のボール溝との対で形成されるボールトラックに配された6個のトルク伝達ボールと、トルク伝達ボールを収容するポケット、外輪の内周面に接触案内される凸球面状の外周面、および、内輪の外周面に接触案内される凹球面状の内周面を有し、かつ、外周面の球面中心と内周面の球面中心とが、ポケット中心に対して軸方向の反対側にオフセットしたケージとを備え、ボール溝が、該ボール溝の両側の肩部まで延びる2つの円弧の組合わせからなるゴシックアーチ形状を有し、自動車のドライブシャフトのインボード側継手として使用される摺動式等速自在継手において、
ボール径と外輪外径の比を0.21〜0.25、
ボールのピッチ円径と外輪外径の比を0.64〜0.68、
ボール溝の接触角を30°〜35°、
ボール溝の接触率を1.02〜1.08、
ケージオフセット量とボールのピッチ円径の比を0.07〜0.09
にし、かつ、最大作動角を30°以上としたことを特徴とする摺動式等速自在継手。 - アウトボード側に8個のトルク伝達ボールを有する固定式等速自在継手を備えるとともに、インボード側に請求項1の摺動式等速自在継手を備えてなるドライブシャフト。
