Description
前述した実施形態に準じて、実施例1のNOx吸蔵型還元触媒Aを製造した。
第1酸化物粉末21として、セリア−ジルコニア複合酸化物粉末の代わりに、セリア粉末を用いること以外は、実施例1のNOx吸蔵還元型触媒Aと同様にして、実施例2のNOx吸蔵還元型触媒Bを得た。
実施例1と同様にして得たセリア−ジルコニア複合酸化物粉末と、アルミナ粉末と、チタニア−ジルコニア複合酸化物粉末と、実施例1と同様にして得たRh担持ジルコニア粉末とを用いて所定のスラリーを調製した。そして、コージェライト製のハニカム体よりなる基材1の表面にスラリーをウォッシュコートし、乾燥、焼成して、基材1の表面に触媒コート層を形成した。
Pdを担持させるPd担体として、セリア−ジルコニア複合酸化物粉末の代わりにアルミナ粉末を用いること以外は、実施例1のNOx吸蔵還元型触媒Aと同様にして、比較例2のNOx吸蔵還元型触媒Dを得た。
Pdを担持させるPd担体として、セリア−ジルコニア複合酸化物粉末の代わりにジルコニア粉末を用いること以外は、実施例1のNOx吸蔵還元型触媒Aと同様にして、比較例3のNOx吸蔵還元型触媒Eを得た。
実施例1〜2及び比較例1〜3のNOx吸蔵還元型触媒A〜Eに対して耐久試験を行った。この耐久試験では、NOx吸蔵還元型触媒が内蔵された触媒コンバータをリーンバーンエンジンの排気系に配設し、入りガス温度750℃で50時間、10分のリーン運転と50分のリッチ運転とを交互に繰り返した。
Pdを担持させる担体の種類と水素発生量との関係について調べた。

Claims (3)
- 酸化物よりなる担体と、該担体に担持された触媒貴金属と、該担体に担持されたS被毒していないNOx吸蔵材と、を備え、
前記担体が、セリア及びセリア−ジルコニア複合酸化物のうちの少なくとも一方よりなる第1酸化物と、セリア及びセリア−ジルコニア複合酸化物以外の酸化物よりなると共に少なくともアルミナ及びジルコニアを含む第2酸化物と、からなり、
前記触媒貴金属が、パラジウムよりなる第1貴金属と、パラジウム以外の貴金属よりなると共に少なくとも白金及びロジウムを含む第2貴金属と、からなり、
前記第1貴金属が実質的に前記第1酸化物のみに担持されており、
前記第2貴金属が前記第2酸化物に担持されていると共に、該第2貴金属に含まれている白金が該第2酸化物に含まれているアルミナに担持され、かつ該第2貴金属に含まれているロジウムが該第2酸化物に含まれているジルコニアに担持されていることを特徴とするNOx吸蔵還元型触媒。 - 前記NOx吸蔵材は、アルカリ土類金属及びアルカリ金属のうちの少なくとも一方を含む請求項1に記載のNOx吸蔵還元型触媒。
- 前記NOx吸蔵材は、バリウム及びカリウムを含む請求項2に記載のNOx吸蔵還元型触媒。
