Description
すなわち本発明は、内燃機関用の燃料油として、燃料油中の窒素含有量が燃料油全量基準で1質量ppm以上、かつ燃料油中の硫黄含有量が燃料油全量基準で10質量ppm以下である燃料油(A)を使用し、燃料油(A)中の窒素分のうち燃料油全量基準で0.5質量ppm以上が燃料油添加剤に起因し、前記燃料油添加剤が、アミノ基またはアミド基を有する化合物であり、その内燃機関に用いられる潤滑油として、潤滑油全量基準で硫黄含有量が0.5質量%以下で、リン酸エステルもしくはリン酸エステル金属塩からなるリン系摩耗防止剤を潤滑油全量基準でリン元素として0.001質量%以上0.5質量%以下含有する潤滑油(B)を組み合わせて使用することを特徴とする内燃機関の摩擦損失低減方法であって、燃料油(A)中の全窒素化合物基準で10質量%以上の窒素化合物が燃焼室を経てエンジン油中に混入することを特徴とする内燃機関の摩擦損失低減方法に関する。
また本発明は、前記記載の内燃機関の摩擦損失低減方法に使用する窒素含有量が燃料油全量基準で1質量ppm以上、かつ燃料油中の硫黄含有量が燃料油全量基準で10質量ppm以下である燃料油組成物に関する。
また本発明は、前記記載の内燃機関の摩擦損失低減方法に使用する潤滑油全量基準で硫黄含有量が0.5質量%以下である潤滑油組成物に関する。
本発明で用いる燃料油組成物は、エンジンに付属の排出ガス浄化装置の性能を発揮するため、かつ燃焼生成物および燃料油中の硫黄化合物がエンジン油に混入した際の悪影響を防ぐために、硫黄分は燃料油全量基準で10質量ppm以下であることが必要である。
硫黄分が10質量ppmを越える場合、排出ガス処理触媒の性能に悪影響を及ぼし、排
出ガス中のNOx、CO、HCの濃度が高くなる可能性があり、またベンゼンの排出量も
増加する可能性がある。ここで、硫黄分とは、JIS K 2541「原油及び石油製品−
硫黄分試験方法」により測定される硫黄含有量を意味する。
燃料油中に含まれる窒素化合物は、原油の生成過程で残留する窒素化合物も含まれるが、窒素を含有した添加剤を燃料に添加することにより、燃料油中の窒素化合物の量を増加させ、燃料油全量基準での窒素含有量を増加させることができる。
燃料油中に含まれる窒素化合物は、窒素濃度として燃料油全量基準で50質量ppm以下であることが好ましく、より好ましくは30質量ppm以下である。燃料油中に含まれる窒素化合物は燃焼によりNO、NO2などの窒素酸化物になりNOxとして排出量が規制されている。自動車用燃料として考えた場合、現状のNOx排出レベルは燃料1kgあたり0.5〜4gとなっている。窒素含有量が100質量ppmよりも多くなると、特にNOx浄化後処理がついていないディーゼル機関において無視できないレベルまでNOxを増加させることになる。50質量ppmを下回る窒素濃度の増加であれば、内燃機関から排出されるNOx排出の影響を無視できるレベルまで低減することが可能である。
・10容量%留出温度が70℃以下
・50容量%留出温度が75℃以上、105℃以下
・90容量%留出温度が220℃以下
50容量%留出温度の下限値は75℃であることが好ましく、75℃に満たない場合は燃費が悪化する可能性がある。一方、50容量%留出温度の上限値は105℃であることが好ましく、105℃を超える場合には、排出ガス中の炭化水素が増加する可能性がある。
90容量%留出温度の上限値は220℃であることが好ましく、220℃を超える場合には、燃費の悪化、排出ガス中の炭化水素の増加、吸気バルブデポジットの増加、燃焼室デポジットが増加する可能性がある。
リード蒸気圧(RVP)が下限値44kPaを下回る場合には、燃料油組成物の揮発性を阻害し、燃費の悪化や運訂正の悪化を招く可能性がある。
リード蒸気圧(RVP)が上限値93kPaを上回る場合には、燃料油組成物中の揮発成分の蒸発により、炭化水素類の蒸発排出ガスの増加や、燃費の悪化を招く可能性がある。
火花点火機関においては、よりアンチノッキング性を高めるため、リサーチ法オクタン価(RON)が89以上であることが好ましく、更に好ましくは90以上である。また、より高速走行中のアンチノック性を高めるために、モーター法オクタン価(MON)が80以上であることが好ましく、更に好ましくは80.5以上である。ここで、リサーチ法オクタン価およびモーター法オクタン価とは、それぞれ、JIS K 2280「オクタン価及びセタン価試験方法」により測定されるリサーチ法オクタン価およびモーター法オクタン価を意味する。
これらの添加剤は、1種または2種以上を添加することができ、その合計添加量は燃料油組成物全量基準で0.1質量%以下とすることが好ましい。
本発明に用いられる潤滑油組成物は、硫黄を構成元素として含む添加剤を含有し得るが、潤滑油組成物の全硫黄含有量(潤滑油基油及び添加剤に起因する硫黄分の合計量)は、内燃機関の耐久性、耐摩耗性、清浄性および低摩擦性を両立させるため、潤滑油組成物全量基準で、0.5質量%以下であり、より好ましくは0.05〜0.2質量%、特に好ましくは0.1〜0.18質量%である。
まず、秤量した試料油(潤滑油基油)100gを丸底フラスコに入れ、尿素200mg、トルエン360ml及びメタノール40mlを加えて室温で6時間攪拌する。これにより、反応液中に尿素アダクト物として白色の粒状結晶が生成する。反応液を1ミクロンフィルターでろ過することにより、生成した白色粒状結晶を採取し、得られた結晶をトルエン50mlで6回洗浄する。回収した白色結晶をフラスコに入れ、純水300ml及びトルエン300mlを加えて80℃で1時間攪拌する。分液ロートで水相を分離除去し、トルエン相を純水300mlで3回洗浄する。トルエン相に乾燥剤(硫酸ナトリウム)を加えて脱水処理を行った後、トルエンを留去する。このようにして得られた尿素アダクト物の試料油に対する割合(質量百分率)を尿素アダクト値と定義する。
(1) パラフィン基系原油および/または混合基系原油の常圧蒸留による留出油;
(2) パラフィン基系原油および/または混合基系原油の常圧蒸留残渣油の減圧蒸留留出油(WVGO);
(3) 潤滑油脱ろう工程により得られるワックスおよび/またはGTLプロセス等により製造されるフィッシャートロプシュワックス;
(4) (1)〜(3)の中から選ばれる1種または2種以上の混合油のマイルドハイドロクラッキング処理油(MHC);
(5) (1)〜(4)の中から選ばれる2種以上の油の混合油;
(6) (1)、(2)、(3)、(4)または(5)の脱れき油(DAO);
(7) (6)のマイルドハイドロクラッキング処理油(MHC);
(8) (1)〜(7)の中から選ばれる2種以上の油の混合油などを原料油とし、この原料油および/またはこの原料油から回収された潤滑油留分を、通常の精製方法によって精製し、潤滑油留分を回収することによって得られる潤滑油。
すなわち、上記(1)〜(8)から選ばれる基油をそのまま、またはこの基油から回収された潤滑油留分を、水素化分解あるいはワックス異性化し、当該生成物をそのまま、もしくはこれから潤滑油留分を回収し、次に溶剤脱ろうや接触脱ろうなどの脱ろう処理を行い、その後、溶剤精製処理するか、または、溶剤精製処理した後、溶剤脱ろうや接触脱ろうなどの脱ろう処理を行って製造される水素化分解鉱油及び/又はワックス異性化イソパラフィン系基油が好ましく用いられる。この水素化分解鉱油及び/又はワックス異性化イソパラフィン系基油は、基油全量基準で好ましくは30質量%以上、より好ましくは50質量%以上、特に好ましくは70質量%以上使用することが望ましい。
また、フィッシャー−トロプシュ・ワックスは、いわゆるフィッシャー−トロプシュ合成法により製造される。
affinate)(水素化および部分異性化中間留出物合成ワックス質ラフィネート)などが挙げられる。
また、第1工程における水素化処理の条件がマイルドである場合には、使用する原料によって残存する多環芳香族分が通過する可能性があるが、これらの異物は、第3工程における水素化精製により除去されてもよい。
また、第3工程後に得られる被処理物については、必要に応じて、蒸留等により所定の成分を分離除去してもよい。
潤滑油基油における飽和分の含有量は、潤滑油基油全量を基準として、好ましくは90質量%以上であり、より好ましくは93質量%以上、更に好ましくは95質量%以上である。また、当該飽和分に占める環状飽和分の割合は、好ましくは0.1〜50質量%、より好ましくは0.1〜30質量%、さらに好ましくは0.1〜10質量%、さらにより好ましくは0.5〜5質量%、特に好ましくは0.8〜3質量%である。飽和分の含有量及び当該飽和分に占める環状飽和分の割合がそれぞれ上記条件を満たすことにより、粘度−温度特性及び熱・酸化安定性を達成することができ、また、当該潤滑油基油に添加剤が配合された場合には、当該添加剤を潤滑油基油中に十分に安定的に溶解保持しつつ、当該添加剤の機能をより高水準で発現させることができる。更に、飽和分の含有量及び当該飽和分に占める環状飽和分の割合がそれぞれ上記条件を満たすことにより、潤滑油基油自体の摩擦特性を改善することができ、その結果、摩擦低減効果の向上、ひいては省エネルギー性の向上を達成することができる。
2007−93に記載された方法により分離・分取された飽和分について、以下の条件でガスクロマトグラフィー分析を行い、当該飽和分に占めるノルマルパラフィンの割合を同定・定量したときの測定値を、潤滑油基油全量を基準として換算した値を意味する。なお、同定・定量の際には、標準試料として炭素数5〜50のノルマルパラフィンの混合試料が用いられ、飽和分に占めるノルマルパラフィンは、クロマトグラムの全ピーク面積値(希釈剤に由来するピークの面積値を除く)に対する各ノルマルパラフィンに相当に相当するピーク面積値の合計の割合として求められる。

カラム:液相無極性カラム(長さ25mm、内径0.3mmφ、液相膜厚さ0.1μm)
昇温条件:50℃〜400℃(昇温速度:10℃/分)
キャリアガス:ヘリウム(線速度:40cm/分)
スプリット比:90/1
試料注入量:0.5μL(二硫化炭素で20倍に希釈した試料の注入量)
D 2425−93に記載の方法、ASTM D 2549−91に記載の方法、高速液体クロマトグラフィ(HPLC)による方法、あるいはこれらの方法を改良した方法等を挙げることができる。
なお、ここでいう芳香族分の含有量とは、ASTM D 2007−93に準拠して測定された値を意味する。芳香族分には、通常、アルキルベンゼン、アルキルナフタレンの他、アントラセン、フェナントレン及びこれらのアルキル化物、更にはベンゼン環が四環以上縮合した化合物、ピリジン類、キノリン類、フェノール類、ナフトール類等のヘテロ原子を有する芳香族化合物などが含まれる。
(I)100℃における動粘度が1.5mm2/s以上3.5mm2/s未満、より好ましくは2.0〜3.0mm2/sの潤滑油基油
(II)100℃における動粘度が3.5mm2/s以上4.5mm2/s未満、より好ましくは3.7〜4.1mm2/sの潤滑油基油
(III)100℃における動粘度が4.5〜20mm2/s、より好ましくは4.8〜11mm2/s、特に好ましくは5.5〜8.0mm2/sの潤滑油基油。
(IV)40℃における動粘度が6.0mm2/s〜12mm2/s、より好ましくは8.0〜12mm2/sの潤滑油基油
(V)40℃における動粘度が12mm2/s〜28mm2/s、より好ましくは13〜19mm2/sの潤滑油基油
(VI)40℃における動粘度が28〜50mm2/s、より好ましくは29〜45mm2/s、特に好ましくは30〜40mm2/sの潤滑油基油。

例えば、上記潤滑油基油(I)及び(IV)のρ15は、好ましくは0.825以下、より好ましくは0.820以下である。また、上記潤滑油基油(II)及び(V)のρ15は、好ましくは0.835以下、より好ましくは0.830以下である。また、上記潤滑油基油(III)及び(VI)のρ15は、好ましくは0.840以下、より好ましくは0.835以下である。
なお、本発明でいう15℃における密度とは、JIS K 2249−1995に準拠して15℃において測定された密度を意味する。

例えば、上記潤滑油基油(I)及び(IV)のAPは、好ましくは108℃以上、より好ましくは110℃以上である。また、上記潤滑油基油(II)及び(V)のAPは、好ましくは113℃以上、より好ましくは119℃以上である。また、上記潤滑油基油(III)及び(VI)のAPは、好ましくは125℃以上、より好ましくは128℃以上である。なお、本発明でいうアニリン点とは、JIS K 2256−1985に準拠して測定されたアニリン点を意味する。
なお、本発明でいう、IBP、T10、T50、T90及びFBPとは、それぞれASTM D 2887−97に準拠して測定される留出温度を意味する。
なお、本発明でいう残存金属分とは、JPI−5S−38−2003に準拠して測定される金属分を意味する。
なお、本発明でいうRBOT寿命とは、潤滑油基油にフェノール系酸化防止剤(2,6−ジ−tert−ブチル−p−クレゾール;DBPC)を0.2質量%添加した組成物について、JIS K 2514−1996に準拠して測定されたRBOT値を意味する。
上記R19〜R24で表される炭素数1〜30の炭化水素基は、炭素数1〜30のアルキル基又は炭素数6〜24のアリール基であることが好ましく、更に好ましくは炭素数3〜18、更に好ましくは炭素数4〜12のアルキル基である。
これら窒素化合物の中でもデシルアミン、ドデシルアミン、トリデシルアミン、ヘプタデシルアミン、オクタデシルアミン、オレイルアミン及びステアリルアミン等の炭素数10〜20のアルキル基又はアルケニル基を有する脂肪族アミン(これらは直鎖状でも分枝状でもよい)が好ましい例として挙げることができる。
本発明においては、摩擦調整剤の含有量は、組成物全量を基準として、好ましくは0.01質量%以上、より好ましくは0.1質量%以上、更に好ましくは0.3質量%以上であり、また、好ましくは3質量%以下、より好ましくは2質量%以下、更に好ましくは1質量%以下である。摩擦調整剤の含有量が前記下限値未満であると、その添加による摩擦低減効果が不十分となる傾向にあり、また、前記上限値を超えると、リン系摩耗防止剤などの効果が阻害されやすく、あるいは添加剤の溶解性が悪化する傾向にある。
ブテニル基、ペンテニル基、ヘキセニル基、ヘプテニル基、オクテニル基、ノネニル基、デセニル基、ウンデセニル基、ドデセニル基等のアルケニル基(これらアルケニル基は直鎖状でも分枝状でもよく、二重結合の位置も任意である);
フェニル基、ナフチル基等のアリール基:トリル基、キシリル基、エチルフェニル基、プロピルフェニル基、ブチルフェニル基、ペンチルフェニル基、ヘキシルフェニル基等の炭素数7〜12のアルキルアリール基(これらアルキル基は直鎖状でも分枝状でもよく、またアリール基への置換位置も任意である);ベンシル基、フェニルエチル基、フェニルプロピル基、フェニルブチル基、フェニルペンチル基、フェニルヘキシル基等の炭素数7〜12のアリールアルキル基(これらアルキル基は直鎖状でも分枝状でもよい);等が例示できる。
また40℃における動粘度についても特に制限はないが、好ましくは14.0〜200mm2/sであり、より好ましくは20〜110mm2/sであり、さらに好ましくは40〜60mm2/sであり、特に好ましくは45〜55mm2/sである。
また本発明の潤滑油組成物は、せん断後の100℃における動粘度が9.3mm2/s以上であることが好ましい。
本発明に用いられる潤滑油組成物の粘度グレードは、好ましくはSAE20、30、40、50の範囲であり、より好ましくはSAE20、30の範囲であり、特にSAE30、0W−30、5W−30、10W−30であることが好ましい。
耐久後のエンジン油フリクションおよび窒素化合物の含有量を測定した結果、燃料中からエンジン油中へ約0.9質量%の含窒素化合物(窒素増加量で100質量ppm)が劣化した状態で溶出していることが判明した。
表1に示す基油を用い、表2に示す各種潤滑油を調製した。200℃、20分の条件で劣化させた含窒素化合物を添加したもしくは未添加の潤滑油組成物についてHFRR試験機を用いて摩擦係数を測定した。その結果を表1に示す。

Claims (16)
- 内燃機関用の燃料油として、燃料油中の窒素含有量が燃料油全量基準で1質量ppm以上、かつ燃料油中の硫黄含有量が燃料油全量基準で10質量ppm以下である燃料油(A)を使用し、燃料油(A)中の窒素分のうち燃料油全量基準で0.5質量ppm以上が燃料油添加剤に起因し、前記燃料油添加剤が、アミノ基またはアミド基を有する化合物であり、その内燃機関に用いられる潤滑油として、潤滑油全量基準で硫黄含有量が0.5質量%以下で、リン酸エステルもしくはリン酸エステル金属塩からなるリン系摩耗防止剤を潤滑油全量基準でリン元素として0.001質量%以上0.5質量%以下含有する潤滑油(B)を組み合わせて使用することを特徴とする内燃機関の摩擦損失低減方法であって、燃料油(A)中の全窒素化合物基準で10質量%以上の窒素化合物が燃焼室を経てエンジン油中に混入することを特徴とする内燃機関の摩擦損失低減方法。
- 燃料油(A)中に配合される添加剤において、添加剤の配合量を燃料油全量基準でx質量ppm、添加剤の示差熱天秤(TGA)による300℃の残分を添加剤全量基準でy質量%とした場合にx×yが500以上であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の内燃機関の摩擦損失低減方法。
- 燃料油(A)の15℃における密度が0.700g/cm3以上0.783g/cm3以下、蒸留性状10容量%留出温度が70℃以下、50容量%留出温度が75℃以上105℃以下、90容量%留出温度が220℃以下、リード蒸気圧が44kPa以上93kPa以下であることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の内燃機関の摩擦損失低減方法。
- 潤滑油(B)が、尿素アダクト値が4質量%以下であり、かつ粘度指数が100以上の潤滑油基油を20質量%以上含有することを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の内燃機関の摩擦損失低減方法。
- 潤滑油(B)の150℃におけるTBS粘度が2.9mm2/s以下であることを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の内燃機関の摩擦損失低減方法。
- 請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載の内燃機関の摩擦損失低減方法に使用する窒素含有量が燃料油全量基準で1質量ppm以上、かつ燃料油中の硫黄含有量が燃料油全量基準で10質量ppm以下である燃料油組成物。
- 燃料油中の窒素分のうち燃料油全量基準で0.5質量ppm以上が燃料油添加剤に起因することを特徴とする請求項6に記載の燃料油組成物。
- 前記燃料油添加剤が、アミノ基またはアミド基を有する化合物であること特徴とする請求項7に記載の燃料油組成物。
- 燃料油中に配合される添加剤において、添加剤の配合量を燃料油全量基準でx質量ppm、添加剤の示差熱天秤(TGA)による300℃の残分を添加剤全量基準でy質量%とした場合にx×yが500以上であることを特徴とする請求項6〜8のいずれかに記載の燃料油組成物。
- 燃料油中の全窒素化合物基準で10質量%以上の窒素化合物が燃焼室を経てエンジン油中に混入することを特徴とする請求項6〜9いずれかに記載の燃料油組成物。
- 15℃における密度が0.700g/cm3以上0.783g/cm3以下、蒸留性状10容量%留出温度が70℃以下、50容量%留出温度が75℃以上105℃以下、90容量%留出温度が220℃以下、リード蒸気圧が44kPa以上93kPa以下であることを特徴とする請求項6〜10のいずれかに記載の燃料油組成物。
- 請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載の内燃機関の摩擦損失低減方法に使用する潤滑油全量基準で硫黄含有量が0.5質量%以下であることを特徴とする潤滑油組成物。
- 尿素アダクト値が4質量%以下且つ粘度指数が100以上の潤滑油基油を20質量%以上含有することを特徴とする請求項12に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- 150℃におけるTBS粘度が2.9mm2/s以下であることを特徴とする請求項12または13に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- 潤滑油全量基準でリン元素として0.001質量%以上0.5質量%以下のリン系摩耗防止剤を含有することを特徴とする請求項12〜14のいずれかに記載の潤滑油組成物。
- 前記リン系摩耗防止剤が、リン酸エステルもしくはリン酸エステル金属塩であることを特徴とする請求項15に記載の潤滑油組成物。
