Description
[第1の実施形態]
図1は本発明の一実施形態にかかる内燃機関及びその制御装置の構成を示す図である。内燃機関(以下「エンジン」という)1は、シリンダ内に燃料を直接噴射するディーゼルエンジンであり、各気筒に燃料噴射弁6が設けられている。燃料噴射弁6は、電子制御ユニット(以下「ECU」という)4に電気的に接続されており、燃料噴射弁6の開弁時期及び開弁時間は、ECU4により制御される。
また下流側触媒33を、NOx捕捉材を加えた三元触媒で構成することにより、エンジンの高負荷運転時において上流側触媒11でNOxを十分の捕捉できない場合でも、下流側触媒33で捕捉し、高いNOx捕捉率を確保することができる。また、下流側触媒33を、HC吸着材を加えた酸化触媒で構成することにより、排気温が高いときに、上流側触媒11をバイパスさせて排気を下流側触媒33に供給し、炭化水素及びCOの酸化を促進することができる。
ECU4は、エンジン1の各気筒の燃焼室に設けられた燃料噴射弁6に接続されており、ECU4から駆動信号が燃料噴射弁6に供給される。
ステップS11では、エンジン冷却水温TWが所定水温TWX(例えば70℃)より高いか否かを判別する。ステップS11が否定(NO)であるときは、上流側触媒温度TPTCが所定上流側触媒温度TPTCX(例えば500℃)より高いか否かを判別する(ステップS12)。ステップS12が否定(NO)であるときは、還流排気温度TEGRが所定排気温度TEGRX(例えば400℃)より高いか否かを判別する(ステップS13)。ステップS13の答が否定(NO)であるときは、アクセルペダル操作量APが「0」であり、かつエンジン回転数NEが所定アイドル回転数NEIDL(例えば800rpm)より高いか否かを判別する(ステップS14)。
図3は、本発明の第2の実施形態にかかるエンジンの構成を示す図である。図3に示す構成は、以下に説明する点を除き、図1に示す構成と同一である。図3に示すエンジンは、図1に示すエンジンの排気還流通路25と、排気管8の上流側触媒11の上流側とを接続する排気還流通路31を備え、排気還流通路25と排気還流通路31との接続部に第3切換弁32が設けられている。以下、排気還流通路25の第3切換弁32より下流側を「共通排気還流通路25a」といい、排気還流通路25の第3切換弁32により上流側を「下流接続排気還流通路25b」といい、排気還流通路31を「上流接続排気還流通路31」という。
ステップS14の答が否定(NO)であるとき、すなわちエンジンの暖機完了前にアクセルペダルが踏み込まれたときまたはエンジンがアイドル状態にあるときは、第1切換弁13をバイパス通路閉状態とし(ステップS15)、還流排気温度TEGRが所定排気温度TEGRXより高いか否かを判別する(ステップS13a)。この答が肯定(YES)であって、還流排気温度TEGRが高いときは、第3切換弁32を上流側還流状態とする(ステップS13b)。またステップS13aでTEGR≦TEGRXであるときは、第3切換弁32を下流側還流状態とする(ステップS13c)。
図7は、本発明の第3の実施形態にかかる内燃機関及びその制御装置の構成を示す図である。図7に示す構成は、図3に示す構成において、排気管8のDPFG34の下流側にリーンNOx触媒35を設けたものである。これ以外は、第2の実施形態と同一である。

Claims (10)
- 過給機を備える内燃機関の制御装置において、
前記機関は、排気系に設けられた前記過給機のタービンと、該タービンの上流側に設けられた上流側触媒と、該上流側触媒をバイパスする触媒バイパス通路と、該触媒バイパス通路を開閉する触媒バイパス通路開閉弁と、前記上流側触媒と前記タービンの間の部分から排気の一部を吸気系に還流する第1排気還流通路と、前記上流側触媒の上流側から排気の一部を前記吸気系に還流する第2排気還流通路と、前記第1排気還流通路と第2排気還流通路とを切り換える切換弁とを備え、
前記触媒バイパス通路は、前記上流側触媒の上流側と、前記第1排気還流通路と前記排気系の接続部の上流側との間に配置されており、
前記機関の温度が低いときは前記触媒バイパス通路開閉弁を閉弁するとともに前記切換弁を前記第1排気還流通路側に切り換え、その状態で前記第1排気還流通路を介して還流される排気の温度が所定排気温度を超えたとき、前記切換弁を前記第2排気還流通路側に切り換え、
前記機関の温度が高いときは前記触媒バイパス通路開閉弁を開弁するとともに前記切換弁を前記第1排気還流通路側に切り換えることを特徴とする内燃機関の制御装置。 - 前記タービンの下流側に設けられた下流側触媒をさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の内燃機関の制御装置。
- 前記タービンをバイパスするタービンバイパス通路と、該タービンバイパス通路を開閉するタービンバイパス通路開閉弁とをさらに備え、前記下流側触媒は、前記タービンより下流側の排気通路と前記タービンバイパス通路とが合流する部分より下流側に設けられていることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の内燃機関の制御装置。
- 前記下流側触媒の下流側に粒子状物質フィルタをさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項2または3に記載の内燃機関の制御装置。
- 前記粒子状物質フィルタの下流側にリーンNOx触媒をさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の内燃機関の制御装置。
- 前記下流側触媒は、NOx捕捉材を加えた三元触媒または炭化水素吸着材を加えた酸化触媒であることを特徴とする請求項2から5の何れか1項に記載の内燃機関の制御装置。
- 前記上流側触媒は、炭化水素吸着材を加えた酸化触媒、またはNOx捕捉材を加えた三元触媒、またはNOx捕捉材及び炭化水素吸着材を加えた三元触媒であることを特徴とする請求項1から6の何れか1項に記載の内燃機関の制御装置。
- 前記NOx捕捉材はセリアであり、前記炭化水素吸着材はゼオライトであることを特徴とする請求項6または7に記載の内燃機関の制御装置。
- 前記上流側触媒の温度が所定触媒温度以下であるときは、前記触媒バイパス通路開閉弁を閉弁することを特徴とする請求項1から8の何れか1項に記載の内燃機関の制御装置。
- 前記機関の減速時は、前記触媒バイパス通路開閉弁を開弁することを特徴とする請求項1から9の何れか1項に記載の内燃機関の制御装置。
