Description
なお、上記多角形状は、多角形に限らず、円周方向に沿って周期的に波山が位置する波形やギヤ状等の形状であっても良く、波山のような箇所が複数ある形状を意味する。
このように被検出リングを挟んで左右対称位置にそれぞれ変位センサを配置した場合、被検出リングが回転する際のふらつき、あるいは荷重がかかった時の荷重成分をキャンセルできる。たとえば、回転角検出用の変位センサは、内方部材に曲げモーメントがかかった場合、その大きさによっては信号がオフセットすることがあり角度検出に影響するが、2つの変位センサを被検出リングを挟んで対向配置し、2つの変位センサの出力の平均を取ることにより、荷重の影響を無くすことができる。なお、この場合に、2つの変位センサのコイル巻線を直列にしても平均化の効果がある。
荷重検出用の2つの変位センサの場合、両変位センサの出力の差を取ることにより、検出感度を2倍に向上させることができる。
この構成によると、対向面積が変わる変位センサの出力だけから内方部材の回転角と荷重とを検出することが可能となり、部品点数が少なく構成が簡単であるにもかかわらず、マルチセンシング機能を同じ場所で行うことができる利点がある。
この発明の他のセンサ付車輪用軸受は、外方部材と内方部材間に複列の転動体を介在させ、内方部材に車輪を取付けた車輪用軸受において、外形形状が偏心または多角形状をなした被検出リングを内方部材に設け、この被検出リングに対向する外方部材側に変位センサを設け、その変位センサは、被検出リングの回転に伴って対向面積が変わるものであって、被検出リングを挟んで左右対称位置に変位センサが配置され、このセンサユニットを周方向に1ユニット以上配置し、左右対称位置に配置した変位センサの出力を演算することで、角度と荷重の両方を検出する手段を設けたため、車両にコンパクトに荷重センサと回転角度センサとを設置できて、車輪にかかる荷重と回転速度を安定して検出することができる。
図1において、この車輪用軸受18は、内周に複列の転走面4を有する外方部材1と、これら転走面4にそれぞれ対向する転走面5を外周に有する内方部材2と、これら複列の転走面4,5間に介在させた複列の転動体3とを備える。この車輪用軸受18は、複列のアンギュラ玉軸受とされていて、上記各転走面4,5は断面円弧状であり、各転走面4,5は接触角が背面合わせとなるように形成されている。転動体3はボールからなり、各列毎に保持器6で保持されている。
荷重検出用の2つの変位センサ11a,11bも、被検出リング9(9A)を挟んで軸方向に対称配置させてあるが、この場合、変位センサ11a,11bの出力の差を取ることにより、検出感度を2倍に向上させることができる。

Claims (4)
- 複列の転走面が内周面に形成された外方部材と、この外方部材の転走面と対向する転走面を形成した内方部材と、対向する転走面間に介在した複列の転動体とを備え、前記内方部材に車輪が取付けられ、車体に対して車輪を回転自在に支持する車輪用軸受において、
外径形状が偏心または多角形状を成した被検出リングを内方部材に設け、この被検出リングに対向して外方部材側に変位センサを設け、この変位センサは、被検出リングが回転しても対向面積が変わらないものと、被検出リングの回転に伴って対向面積が変わるものとをそれぞれ1つ以上配置し、
被検出リングが回転して対向面積が変わる変位センサ、および被検出リングが回転しても対向面積が変わらない変位センサは、被検出リングを挟んで左右対称位置にそれぞれ変位センサを配置したセンサユニットを円周方向に1ユニット以上配置したものであり、
左右対称位置に配置した前記対向面積が変わる変位センサの出力を演算することで、角度と荷重の両方を検出する手段を設けたことを特徴とするセンサ付車輪用軸受。 - 複列の転走面が内周面に形成された外方部材と、この外方部材の転走面と対向する転走面を形成した内方部材と、対向する転走面間に介在した複列の転動体とを備え、前記内方部材に車輪が取付けられ、車体に対して車輪を回転自在に支持する車輪用軸受において、

- 請求項1または請求項2において、変位センサは磁石とアナログ出力の磁気検出素子の組合せからなるセンサ付車輪用軸受。
