Description
〔実施例〕
まず、15リットルの反応器にシクロヘキサン9.0リットル、ポリオキシエチレン(NP=5)ノニルフェニルエーテル320gを混合してよく撹拌した。それに硝酸マグネシウム(Mg(NO3)2)0.60モルを溶解した水溶液250mlを加えて室温下でよく撹拌した。オイル(有機溶媒)と界面活性剤との比率(O/S)は6である。これにより、逆ミセル(油中水型マイクロエマルション、水滴径30nm)が形成され、Mg源としてのマイクロエマルション液を調製した。
つぎに、上記のマイクロエマルション液中にアルコキシド溶液とアンモニア水を撹拌しながら加え、pHを8.2に調整し、加水分解を開始した。すなわち、有機溶媒中に分散しているミセル内の水相あるいはその境界で加水分解が生じてマグネシアアルミナ複合酸化物の一次粒子が生じるとともに、その一次粒子が凝集した二次粒子が生成される。
所定時間後に、上記の二次粒子の凝集を促進するために、アンモニア水によってpHを10.0に調整するとともに、蒸留水を加えて二相分離領域に調整する。すなわち、上記のマイクロエマルション液を、水の投与によって、水相と油相とに分離した状態にする。上記の二次粒子は、分離した水相に含まれ、したがって分散状態が解消されることにより、二次粒子同士の凝集が促進される。このような熟成の操作を60分間継続した後、母液を濾別し、界面活性剤を除去するために、得られた沈殿をエタノールで洗浄するとともに遠心分離器に掛け、さらに一夜乾燥後、大気中800℃で2時間焼成し、マグネシアアルミナ複合酸化物担体とした。
得られた担体の組成は、Mg0.46Al0.54OXであり、これをX線回折解析したところ、図4に示す結果が得られた。すなわち、MgOが粒子としてスピネル(MgAl2O4)中に分散していることが認められた。また、そのMgOの粒径は、XDRによって計測したところ、平均値として8.0nmであった。なお、表1および図1に記載のその他の組成のものについても同様の工程を用いて合成した。
Claims (3)
- マグネシアアルミナ複合酸化物を含む金属酸化物担体に、白金を含む貴金属粒子を担持した排ガス浄化用触媒において、
前記担体におけるマグネシウムとアルミニウムとの総量に対するマグネシウムの量の比(Mg/(Mg+Al):原子数の比)が1/3を超えかつ4/5以下であり、
粒径が20nm以下の酸化マグネシウム微粒子がスピネル中もしくはスピネル上に分散させられていることを特徴とする排ガス浄化用触媒。 - 水溶性マグネシウム化合物の水溶液を有機溶媒中に分散させたマイクロエマルション液と、アルミニウムアルコキシド溶液とを混合して、加水分解によりマグネシアアルミナ複合酸化物の前駆体粒子を形成させ、その前駆体粒子を焼成して前記金属酸化物担体とすることにより、前記担体におけるマグネシウムとアルミニウムとの総量に対するマグネシウムの量の比(Mg/(Mg+Al):原子数の比)が1/3を超えかつ4/5以下で、かつ粒径が20nm以下の酸化マグネシウム微粒子がスピネル中もしくはスピネル上に分散され、さらに、その金属酸化物担体に白金を含む前記貴金属粒子が担持されている請求項1に記載の排ガス浄化用触媒を製造する方法。
- 前記マイクロエマルション液中に分散させられているミセルの水滴径は、30nm以下であることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の排ガス浄化用触媒を製造する方法。
