Description
例えば、特開平8−233163号公報、特開平8−233164号公報および特開平9−72467号公報には、ねじ継手の接触表面にリン酸塩系化成処理被膜を形成した後、樹脂中に固体潤滑剤である二硫化モリブデン(MoS2)もしくは二硫化タングステン(WS2)を分散させた固体潤滑被膜を形成したねじ継手が開示されている。リン酸塩化成処理の前に接触表面に予めに凹凸を形成するか、窒化処理を施してもよい。
そのため、防錆油は、固体潤滑被膜と接触すると多孔質の被膜中に容易に浸透してしまう。その結果、固体潤滑被膜はその機能を十分に発揮することができず、ねじ継手の耐焼付き性が著しく低下する危険性がある。これは、防錆油と固体潤滑剤もしくは結合剤との化学反応により潤滑性能が低下するか、あるいはねじ継手の締付け時に発生する面圧によって潤滑被膜中に閉じ込められた防錆油に極圧が発生し、それにより潤滑被膜の結合が破壊されることに原因があると推測される。
本発明によれば、ねじ継手の接触表面に形成した固体潤滑被膜の上に、さらに固体粒子を含有しない非多孔質の固体防食被膜を形成することにより、無潤滑状態(コンパウンドグリースの塗布がない状態)での耐焼付き性に優れ、かつ輸送中や保管中の性能の著しい低下がない鋼管用ねじ継手を提供することができる。
下層の固体潤滑被膜の結合剤は、無機結合剤(無機高分子化合物)と有機結合剤(有機樹脂)のいずれでもよい。固体潤滑被膜の結合剤が有機樹脂である場合、固体防食被膜の一部または全部を下層の結合剤に用いたのと同じ樹脂から構成してもよい。それにより、下層の固体潤滑被膜と上層の固体防食被膜の接着性がより高まり、鋼管用ねじ継手の耐焼付き性をさらに高めることができる。
<ねじ継手の組み立て構成>
図1は、出荷時の油井管用鋼管とねじ継手部品の状態を示す典型的なねじ継手の組み立て構成を模式的に示す。鋼管Aはその両端の外面に形成された雄ねじ部3aを有するピン1を備え、ねじ継手部品(カップリング)Bはその内面に形成された雌ねじ部3bを有するボックス2を両側に備えている。ねじ継手部品Bのボックスの一方が鋼管Aのピンの一方に締付けられている。図示していないが、鋼管Aの他方のピンとねじ継手部品Bの他方のボックスには、これらの非接続状態のピンおよびボックスの接触表面を保護するために出荷前にプロテクターが装着される。これらのプロテクターはねじ継手の使用前に取り外される。
本発明に従ってその上に下層の固体潤滑被膜および上層の固体防食被膜が形成される、ピンとボックスの少なくとも一方の接触表面は、固体潤滑被膜の密着性を確保するために、その表面粗さRmaxが機械切削後の表面粗さ(3〜5μm)より大きくなるよう予め粗面化のための下地表面処理を施しておくことが望ましい。但し、接触表面を粗面化するための下地処理を行わずに、固体潤滑被膜および固体防食被膜を形成させても本発明の目的を達成することができる。
図3(a)に示す粗面化の第一の態様では、鋼表面30aそれ自体を下地表面処理により粗面化してその上に直接固体潤滑被膜31aおよび固体防食被膜32aをこの順に形成する。この態様の粗面化は、形状が球状のショット材または角状のグリッド材などのブラスト材を投射するブラスト処理、あるいは硫酸、塩酸、硝酸、フッ酸などの強酸液に浸漬する酸洗により達成することができる。
<固体潤滑被膜>
本発明における固体潤滑被膜は、1種または2種以上の固体潤滑性粉末とマトリックスとなる結合剤とを含む被膜である。つまり、固体の潤滑性粉末を結合剤で結合してなる不均一系の被膜である。
固体潤滑被膜の結合剤および固体防食被膜には、いずれも被膜形成性の材料が使用される。そのどちらについても、有機樹脂または無機高分子化合物が使用可能である。
固体防食被膜は、固体粒子を含有しない非多孔質の被膜である。この被膜は、固体防食被膜の結合剤と同様に、被膜形成性の材料から構成することができる。
以上に説明した固体潤滑被膜および固体防食被膜は、ピンとボックスの一方または両方の部材の接触表面に形成することができる。これらの2層の被膜を一方の部材の接触表面に形成するだけでも本発明の目的は十分に達成できるので、ピンとボックスのいずれか一方の部材だけに形成することが経済的である。その場合、ピンよりボックスに被膜を形成する方が作業がより容易である。
表1に示す組成Aの炭素鋼製ねじ継手のピンおよびボックス表面に下記の表面処理を別々に施した。

表1に示す組成Cの13Cr鋼製のねじ継手のピンおよびボックス表面に下記の表面処理を別々に施した。
防錆油塗布、拭き取り後のボックス表面の観察の結果、表面に変化は見られなかった。締付け・緩め試験では、表3に示すように、10回の締付け・緩めにおいて、10回目終了時に僅かな焼付きが発生したが、手入れにより引き続き使用可能であった。この結果は、耐焼付き性能としては全く問題ないレベルである。
表1に示す組成Cの13Cr鋼製のねじ継手のピンおよびボックス表面に下記の表面処理を別々に施した。。
表1に示す組成Aの炭素鋼製のねじ継手のピンおよびボックス表面に下記の表面処理を別々に施した。。
締付け・緩め試験では、表3に示すように、10回の締付け・緩めにおいて、8回目までは焼付きの発生はなかった。9回目には軽度の焼付きが発生したが、手入れをして10回目まで締付け・緩めをして試験を終了した。すなわち、本例ではかなり良好な耐焼付き性が得られたが、鉛等の重金属を多量に含有するコンパウンドグリスの使用は、人体、環境への有害であることに留意すべきである。
表1に示す組成Aの炭素鋼製ねじ継手のピンおよびボックス表面に、次に述べるように、ボックス表面に対する固体潤滑被膜と固体防食被膜の形成順序を逆にした以外は、実施例1と同じ表面処理を別々に施した。。

Claims (10)
- 継手を締付けると互いに接触する接触表面をそれぞれ有するピンおよびボックスから構成される鋼管用ねじ継手であって、
前記ピンおよびボックスの少なくとも一方の部材の接触表面が、潤滑性粉末と結合剤とを含む固体潤滑被膜と、この被膜の上に形成された、固体粒子を含有しない固体防食被膜とで被覆され、
該固体防食被膜が有機樹脂を含有するとともに、前記固体潤滑被膜の結合剤に前記固体防食被膜に含有される有機樹脂と同じ有機樹脂が存在することを特徴とする鋼管用ねじ継手。 - 前記固体潤滑被膜が、酸洗、ブラスト処理、亜鉛もしくは亜鉛合金による衝撃めっき、金属めっき、軟窒化処理、複合金属被覆、燐酸塩処理、蓚酸塩処理ならびに硼酸塩処理から選ばれた下地表面処理が施された接触表面上に形成されている、請求項1に記載の鋼管用ねじ継手。
- 前記ボックスの接触表面が前記固体潤滑被膜と前記固体防食被膜とで被覆されている請求項1または2に記載の鋼管用ねじ継手。
- 前記ピンおよびボックスの一方の部材の接触表面が前記固体潤滑被膜と前記固体防食被膜とで被覆され、他方の部材の接触表面は、亜鉛もしくは亜鉛合金被膜、金属めっき被膜、燐酸塩被膜、蓚酸塩被膜、硼酸塩被膜、ならびに前記固体潤滑被膜と前記固体防食被膜の一方から選ばれた少なくとも1層の被膜で被覆されている、請求項1または2に記載の鋼管用ねじ継手。
- 前記ピンおよびボックスの一方の部材の接触表面が前記固体潤滑被膜と前記固体防食被膜とで被覆され、他方の部材の接触表面は、酸洗、ブラスト処理、亜鉛もしくは亜鉛合金による衝撃めっき、金属めっき、軟窒化処理、複合金属被覆、燐酸塩処理、蓚酸塩処理ならびに硼酸塩処理から選ばれた下地処理が施された後に前記固体潤滑被膜または前記固体防食被膜のいずれかで被覆されている、請求項1または2に記載の鋼管用ねじ継手。
- 前記固体防食被膜が実質的に有機樹脂のみからなる請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載の鋼管用ねじ継手。
- 前記固体潤滑被膜の結合剤が有機樹脂からなり、固体防食被膜が前記結合剤と同じ有機樹脂から構成されている請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載の鋼管用ねじ継手。
- 固体潤滑被膜の膜厚が5〜40μmである請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載の鋼管用ねじ継手。
- 固体防食被膜の膜厚が5〜40μmである請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載の鋼管用ねじ継手。
- 固体潤滑被膜と固体防食被膜の合計膜厚が60μm以下である、請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載の鋼管用ねじ継手。
