Description
このような印刷回路基板230は第1テープキャリアパッケージ220の内でいずれの一つとだけ直接結合されて、これを通じて他の第1テープキャリアパッケージ220と接続されるようにすることで、必要面積を最小化することができる。
この時、複数のTCP220に直列方式に形成された第1信号ライン群(SL1)及び第2信号ライン群が繋がることができる。
次に、液晶パネル200の外郭に直接配置されるラインオンガラスタイプの第1信号ライン群(SL1)を形成する(S110)。
次に、第1テープキャリアパッケージ220上にビデオデータが入力されればビデオデータに対応するアナログ画素電圧をデータラインに供給するソースドライバ221を搭載して、ソースドライバ221でデータ制御信号及び駆動電圧を印加する第2信号ライン群(SL2)を形成する(S130)。
次に、ゲートドライバ211及びソースドライバ221の駆動タイミングをそれぞれ制御するゲート制御信号及びデータ制御信号、ビデオデータ、駆動電圧を供給する印刷回路基板230を第1テープキャリアパッケージ220と接続させる(S150)。
Claims (2)
- お互いに交差されるゲートライン及びデータラインに仕分けされる複数の画素を含み、ラインオンガラスタイプの第1信号ライン群(SL1)が形成されている液晶パネルと、
前記データラインを通じてデータ信号を前記液晶パネルに提供するソースドライバが搭載されて、前記第1信号ライン群にそれぞれ繋がれる第2信号ライン群(SL2)が形成されていて、直列構造で前記液晶パネル上に実装される複数のテープキャリアパッケージと、
複数の駆動信号と制御信号を前記液晶パネルに供給するようにタイミングコントローラを搭載し、前記複数のテープキャリアパッケージ内の一つと直接結合される印刷回路基板と、を含み、
ここで、前記印刷回路基板は、直接結合された前記テープキャリアパッケージを通じてテープキャリアパッケージ皆と直列接続され、
前記印刷回路基板には、ソースドライバ用制御信号とデータ信号を供給するための第4信号ライン群(SL4)が形成され、
前記印刷回路基板と直接結合された複数のテープキャリアパッケージ内の一つには、前記印刷回路基板の第4信号ライン群、前記ソースドライバ及び第2信号ライン群にそれぞれ電気的に繋がる第3信号ライン群(SL3)が形成され、
前記印刷回路基板と直接結合された複数のテープキャリアパッケージ内の一つには、前記印刷回路基板の第5信号ライン群に電気的に繋がれる第6信号ライン群(SL6)が形成され、
前記印刷回路基板には、ゲートドライバ用制御信号と駆動信号を供給するための第5信号ライン群(SL5)が形成され、前記第6信号ライン群を通じてゲートドライバと電気的に繋がれ、
前記タイミングコントローラから供給される前記駆動信号及び制御信号は、前記印刷回路基板に形成された第4信号ライン群及び前記印刷回路基板と直接結合された前記複数のテープキャリアパッケージ内の一つに形成された第3信号ライン群を経由し前記ソースドライバに供給され、
前記ソースドライバは、チップオンフィルム形態で形成され、
前記ゲートドライバは、チップオンフィルム形態で前記液晶パネルの外郭に搭載され、
前記ゲートドライバは、複数の第2テープキャリアパッケージにそれぞれ搭載されるように構成されることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。
- 前記液晶パネルには前記第5信号ライン群と接続されるオンガラスタイプの第7信号ライン群(SL7)が形成され、前記第7信号ライン群は前記ゲートドライバと電気的に繋がれることを特徴とする、請求項1記載の液晶表示装置。
