Description
さらに、本発明に係る吸着剤は無毒であり、且つ、経済的に大量生産できるものなので、地下水の重金属汚染を浄化するために設置される大規模な土壌浄化壁などに含有させて使用することも可能である。
また、本発明に係る吸着剤は、複雑な処理工程を必要としないので、簡便な処理方法に用いる吸着剤として好適である。
本発明において重要な点は、本発明に係る吸着剤は、重金属を含有するイオンなどの有害なイオンを低濃度から高濃度まで広範囲にわたって、吸着できるという事実である。
即ち、本発明に係る吸着剤は、出発原料として炭酸系のアルカリ原料を用いるとともに、含水酸化鉄粒子の製造時にpHを制御して得られているので、炭酸イオン由来の炭素が存在する表面状態となったことに起因して、高い重金属イオンの吸着能を有するものと本発明者は推定している。
毎秒40lの割合で窒素ガスを流すことによって非酸化性雰囲気に保持された反応容器中に、1.60mol/lのNa2CO3水溶液22lと1.60mol/lのNaOH水溶液6lを投入した後、Fe2+0.8mol/lの硫酸第一鉄水溶液25l(Na2CO3はFeとの反応に対して1.76等量、NaOHはFeとの反応に対し0.24当量で合計2.0等量)を添加・混合し、温度50℃においてpH8.5のFeCO3を含む懸濁液を生成した。
吸着剤の生成反応におけるアルカリ水溶液の種類、濃度及び使用量、第一鉄塩水溶液の濃度及び使用量、鉄置換原料の種類、濃度、使用量などを種々変化させた以外は、実施例1と同様にして含水酸化鉄粒子を生成した。
使用例1
予めイオン交換水に硫酸をごく微量添加した溶液を調製して、その中に亜セレン酸ナトリウム(Na2SeO3;和光純薬工業製試薬特級)を添加して、初期濃度としてSe=11.0mg/L、pH6.7の重金属を含有した吸着試験溶液を調製した(SeはSeO3 2−としてイオン化していると推定)。樹脂製ボトルに吸着試験溶液100mlを注ぎ、実施例1で得た吸着剤を0.2g(2g/L)添加して、水平振とう機を用いて6時間振とうした後、5Cのろ紙を用いて固液分離し、液中の重金属濃度を「プラズマ発光分光分析装置 SPS4000(セイコー電子工業(株))」を用いて測定した結果、Seの濃度は0.5mg/L以下で検出限界以下(以下、N.D.と略す)とした。
吸着試験溶液のpH、吸着剤の種類、溶液中に含有する重金属の種類および濃度以外は、前記使用例1と同様にして重金属吸着試験を実施して結果を表3に示す。
なお、ヒ素の重金属イオンとしては、ヒ素標準液(As2O3and NaOH in water pH 5.0 with HCl;和光純薬工業製計量標準試薬)を用い(AsはAsO3 3−またはAsO2 −としてイオン化していると推定)、クロムの重金属イオンとしては、ニクロム酸カリウム(K2Cr2O7;和光純薬工業製試薬特級)を前記と同様に溶解して用いた(CrはCr2O7 2−としてイオン化していると推定)。また、Asの濃度は0.5mg/L以下で検出限界以下(以下、N.D.と略す)、Crの濃度は0.5mg/L以下で検出限界以下(以下、N.D.と略す)とした。
吸着試験溶液のpH、吸着剤の種類、溶液中に含有する重金属を複数種とした重金属混合系にする以外は、前記使用例1と同様にして重金属吸着試験を実施して結果を表3に示す。
吸着試験溶液のpH、吸着剤の種類を変更し、溶液中に含有する重金属を一般的に吸着除去が困難とされている6価のSeである特級試薬のセレン酸ナトリウム(Na2SeO4;和光純薬工業製和光規格1級合格品)を溶解して用いた(SeO4 2−としてイオン化していると推定)以外は、前記使用例1と同様にして重金属吸着試験を実施した。結果を表3に示す。
Claims (4)
- ヒ素、セレン又はクロムから選ばれる1種以上の重金属イオンを吸着する吸着剤であって、前記吸着剤は炭素を0.1〜2.0wt%含有する含水酸化鉄粒子であることを特徴とする吸着剤。
- 含水酸化鉄粒子がα−FeO(OH)及び/又はγ−FeO(OH)であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の吸着剤。
- 鉄原料と、アルカリ原料として炭酸アルカリ水溶液又は炭酸アルカリ・水酸化アルカリ混合水溶液とを用いて反応溶液のpHが6.0〜10.0の領域で合成した含水酸化鉄粒子であることを特徴とする請求項1又は2記載の吸着剤。
- 含水酸化鉄粒子がチタン、ジルコニウム、セリウムから選ばれる1種又は2種以上の元素を含有することを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれかに記載の吸着剤。
