Description
(1)第1の化合物の会合による濃度消光を抑える、
(2)第2の化合物の混合により成膜性が向上する、
(3)2種類の化合物を用いることにより、電子とホールのキャリアバランスをとることが容易になる、
等が挙げられ、発光の高効率化や長寿命化に効果がある。上記のような効果を得るためには、発光層中の第1の化合物の濃度は0.01wt%〜80wt%が好ましく、特に上記(1)から(3)の効果をバランス良く得るためには1wt%〜40wt%が望ましい。両者を混合する濃度は、発光層内で均等であっても、濃度勾配を有していても良い。
図3に示す構造の有機発光素子を以下に示す方法で作成した。
第1の化合物として例示化合物No.3を用い、第2の化合物として表1に示す化合物を用いた他は実施例1と同様に素子を作成し、同様な評価を行った。その結果を表1に示す。
第1の化合物として例示化合物No.5を用い、第2の化合物として表2に示す化合物を用い、発光層の共蒸着比を25:75(重量比)とし、電子輸送層に2,9−ビス[2−(9,9−ジメチルフルオレニル)]フェナントロリンを用いた他は実施例1と同様に素子を作成し、同様な評価を行った。その結果を表2に示す。
第1の化合物として例示化合物No.57を用い、第2の化合物として表3に示す化合物を用い、発光層の共蒸着比を30:70(重量比)とした他は実施例5と同様に素子を作成し、同様な評価を行った。その結果を表3に示す。
第1の化合物として表4に示す化合物を用い、第2の化合物として例示化合物No.201を用い、発光層の共蒸着比を25:75(重量比)とした他は実施例1と同様に素子を作成し、同様な評価を行った。その結果を表4に示す。

Claims (1)
- 陽極および陰極からなる1対の電極と、該1対の電極間に挟持された1または複数の有機化合物を含む層を少なくとも有する有機発光素子において、前記有機化合物を含む層のうち、発光層が、下記一般式[3’]で示される第1の化合物と、該第1の化合物のバンドギャップよりも大きなバンドギャップを有する下記一般式[6]、[7]のいずれかで示される第2の化合物と含むことを特徴とする有機発光素子。
R1、R3は、水素原子、重水素原子、ハロゲン原子、置換あるいは未置換のアルキル基、アリール基、アルコキシ基、アミノ基からなる群より選ばれた基であり、同じであっても異なっていてもよい。
aは1〜9の整数、cは1〜8の整数。)
