図1は本発明の第1の実施形態である液晶表示装置の1画素の領域を拡大した概略平面図、図2は図1に示す液晶表示装置のA−B線に沿った断面を示したものである。ただし、各構成要素サイズは説明を容易にするため、実際のサイズとは異なっている。
図6は本発明の第2の実施形態における液晶表示装置の断面図を示す。
図8は本発明の第3の実施形態における液晶表示装置の断面を示したものである。
図9は本発明の第4の実施形態における液晶表示装置を示す断面図である。

Claims (7)
- 画素内に形成されている画素電極及び共通電極の少なくとも一方の電極が繰り返し構造である領域を有する液晶パネルと、該液晶パネルの背面に配置されたバックライトとを備えた液晶表示装置において、
前記バックライトは、前記液晶パネルへの入射光の方向により入射角度範囲が異なっており、
前記バックライトの前記液晶パネルへの入射光の入射角度範囲が相対的に狭い方向と前記電極の繰り返し周期方向とが一致していることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置において、前記バックライトの前記液晶パネルへの入射光の入射角度範囲の広い方向と狭い方向との入射角度範囲の比が1:3以上の比であることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。
- 画素内に形成されている画素電極及び共通電極の少なくとも一方の電極が繰り返し構造である領域を有する液晶パネルと、該液晶パネルの背面に配置されたバックライトとを備えた液晶表示装置において、
前記液晶パネルと前記バックライトの間に、面内に光透過領域と光遮断領域とが交互に繰り返し構造を有する光吸収異方性部材が配置されており、前記電極の繰り返し周期方向と前記光吸収異方性部材の繰り返し構造の周期方向とが一致していることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 画素内に形成されている画素電極及び共通電極の少なくとも一方の電極が繰り返し構造である領域を有する液晶パネルと、該液晶パネルの背面に配置されたバックライトとを備えた液晶表示装置において、
前記液晶パネルと前記バックライトの間にホログラフィックディフューザーが配置されており、前記電極の繰り返し周期方向と前記ホログラフィックディフューザーの拡散性の小さい方向とが一致していることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 画素内に形成されている画素電極及び共通電極の少なくとも一方の電極が繰り返し構造である領域を有する液晶パネルと、該液晶パネルの背面に配置されたバックライトとを備えた液晶表示装置において、
前記液晶パネルと前記バックライトとの間に異方性レンズシートが配置されており、該異方性レンズシートにより前記液晶パネルへの入射光の入射角度範囲が相対的に狭くなる方向と前記電極の繰り返し周期方向とが一致していることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1から5のいずれかに記載の液晶表示装置において、表示の上下方向が前記液晶パネルへの入射光の入射角度範囲が相対的に狭い方向であることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。
- 請求項1から6のいずれかに記載の液晶表示装置を有する端末機器。
