Description
本発明は、一般に、脊髄固定化に関連した器具使用、用具および技術に関し、特に、複数の次元で脊髄の矯正を促進する装置および方法に関する。
ヒトの脊椎は、正常な生理学的機能をしやすくするために、異なるレベルである程度の曲率を示す。この曲率が実質的に外れるときには、矯正が必要であり得る。よく起こる問題には、脊椎が側方に反れることがあり、これは、通例、脊柱側弯症と呼ばれている。
本発明は、脊髄整列装置(移植可能な部品、器具を含めて)および使用方法に関する。広義の一般的な用語では、その好ましい実施形態は、本体(これは、整列する椎骨に連結する)および細長要素(これは、本体に連結する)を含む。これらの要素は、好ましくは、所望程度の矯正が達成されるまで、その整列を順序正しい様式で進行させるロッキング機構を使って、複数の次元で、これらの本体に対して調節可能である。
