Claims (8)
- 対向するように配置された第1及び第2の基板と、前記第1基板上に設けられた絶縁膜と、前記絶縁膜上に形成され相互に平行な画素電極及び共通電極と、前記絶縁膜、前記画素電極及び前記共通電極を覆うように設けられた第1の配向膜と、前記第2の基板上に設けられた第2の配向膜と、前記第1及び第2の配向膜間に挟持された液晶層と、を有し、前記第1及び第2の配向膜は一定方向に配向処理が施されており、前記画素電極及び前記共通電極の長手方向と前記第1及び第2の配向膜の配向処理された方向とがなす角度が10乃至20°であり、前記第1の配向膜と前記第2の配向膜の対向する表面の間隔が2.7μm以下であり、前記液晶層を形成する液晶の誘電率異方性が8乃至20であり、白表示時に前記画素電極に印加する電圧(白電圧)が4乃至7Vであり、前記白電圧をVwhite(V)、前記液晶の誘電率異方性をΔε、前記第1の配向膜と前記第2の配向膜との距離をd(μm)、前記画素電極と前記共通電極との間隔をL(μm)としたとき、下記数式を満たすことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。
- 対向するように配置された第1及び第2の基板と、前記第1の基板上に設けられた絶縁膜と、前記第1の基板上に形成され一方が前記絶縁膜上に他方が前記絶縁膜と前記第1の基板側との間に形成され平面視で相互に平行な画素電極及び共通電極と、前記絶縁膜及び前記画素電極又は前記共通電極を覆うように設けられた第1の配向膜と、前記第2の基板上に設けられた第2の配向膜と、前記第1及び第2の配向膜間に挟持された液晶層と、を有し、前記第1及び第2の配向膜は一定方向に配向処理が施されており、前記画素電極及び前記共通電極の長手方向と前記第1及び第2の配向膜の配向処理された方向とがなす角度が10乃至20°であり、前記第1の配向膜と前記第2の配向膜の対向する表面の間隔が2.7μm以下であり、前記液晶層を形成する液晶の誘電率異方性が8乃至20であり、白表示時に前記画素電極に印加する電圧(白電圧)が4乃至7Vであり、前記白電圧をVwhite(V)、前記液晶の誘電率異方性をΔε、前記第1の配向膜と前記第2の配向膜との距離をd(μm)、前記画素電極と前記共通電極との間隔をL(μm)、前記絶縁膜の膜厚をT(μm)としたとき、下記数式を満たすことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。
- 前記絶縁膜上に形成された前記画素電極及び前記共通電極は、透明導電膜により形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記透明導電膜は、酸化インジウム錫膜であることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第1基板上に設けられた絶縁膜上に相互に平行な画素電極及び共通電極とを形成し、前記絶縁膜、前記画素電極及び前記共通電極を覆うように一定方向に配向処理された第1の配向膜を形成する工程と、前記第2の基板上に一定方向に配向処理された第2の配向膜を設ける工程と、前記画素電極及び前記共通電極の長手方向と前記第1及び第2の配向膜の配向処理方向とがなす角度が10乃至20°で、前記第1の配向膜と前記第2の配向膜の間隔が2.7μm以下になるように前記第1及び前記第2の基板を対向させて、前記第1及び第2の配向膜間に誘電率異方性が8乃至20である液晶を挟持させる工程と、を有し、白表示時に前記画素電極に印加する電圧(白電圧)を4乃至7Vとしたとき、前記白電圧Vwhite(V)、前記液晶の誘電率異方性Δε、前記第1の配向膜と前記第2の配向膜との距離d(μm)及び前記画素電極と前記共通電極との間隔L(μm)が下記数式を満たすようにすることを特徴とする液晶表示装置の製造方法。
- 前記第1の基板上に一方が絶縁膜上に他方が前記絶縁膜と前記第1の基板側との間に配置して平面視で相互に平行になるように画素電極及び共通電極を形成し、前記絶縁膜及び前記画素電極又は前記共通電極を覆うように一定方向に配向処理された第1の配向膜を形成する工程と、前記画素電極及び前記共通電極の長手方向と前記第1及び第2の配向膜の配向処理方向とがなす角度が10乃至20°で、前記第1の配向膜と前記第2の配向膜の間隔が2.7μm以下になるように前記第1及び前記第2の基板を対向させて、前記第1及び第2の配向膜間に誘電率異方性が8乃至20である液晶を挟持させる工程と、を有し、表示時に前記画素電極に印加する電圧(白電圧)を4乃至7Vとしたとき、前記白電圧Vwhite(V)、前記液晶の誘電率異方性Δε、前記第1の配向膜と前記第2の配向膜との距離d(μm)、前記画素電極と前記共通電極との間隔L(μm)及び前記絶縁膜の膜厚T(μm)が下記数式を満たすようにすることを特徴とする液晶表示装置の製造方法。
- 前記絶縁膜上に形成された前記画素電極及び前記共通電極を、透明導電膜により形成することを特徴とする請求項5又は6に記載の液晶表示装置の製造方法。
- 前記透明導電膜が酸化インジウム錫膜であることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の液晶表示装置の製造方法。
