Description
次に、本実施形態の空気調和装置(10)の運転動作について説明する。なお、以下には空気調和装置(10)の冷房運転動作を例示して説明する。
上記実施形態では、空気調和装置(10)の空気通路(15)にストリーマ放電を行う放電ユニット(30)を配置するようにしている。このため、例えばグロー放電やコロナ放電と比較して活性種を多量に生成することができ、この空気調和装置(10)における被処理成分の分解性能を向上できる。その結果、放電手段(30)の小型化、ひいては空気調和装置(10)の小型化・薄型化を図りながら安定した空気浄化効率を得ることができる。
次に、上記実施形態の空気調和装置(10)について、放電ユニット(30)の構成が異なる変形例について図を参照しながら説明する。
変形例1は、本発明と異なる参考例としての実施形態である。図4に示す変形例1の放電ユニット(30)では、本発明と異なる参考例としての実施形態放電極(31)が板状に形成され、その一辺が鋸歯状となっている。一方、対向極(32)は、放電極(31)と略平行となる姿勢で空気通路(15)に配置されている。そして、上記放電極(31)と対向極(32)とは、空気の流れに直交しながら、図示しない熱交換器(20)の空気流入面に沿うように配置されている。そして、直流電源(50)から両電極(31,32)に電圧が印加されると、放電極(31)の鋸歯の先端から対向極(32)に向かってストリーマ放電(60)が進展する。
図5に示す変形例2の放電ユニット(30)では、垂直断面がL字型の支持板(33)の一側面に、針状の放電極(31)が支持されている。この放電極(31)は、棒状の胴部と、該胴部の先端に形成される円錐状の突起部とで構成されている。一方、対向極(32)は、放電極(31)と略平行となる姿勢で空気通路(15)に配置されている。そして、上記放電極(31)と対向極(32)とは、上記実施形態と同様、空気の流れに直交しながら、図示しない熱交換器(20)の空気流入面に沿うように配置されている。そして、直流電源(50)から両電極(31,32)に電圧が印加されると、放電極(31)の突起部の先端から対向極(32)に向かってストリーマ放電(60)が進展する。
図6に示す変形例3の放電ユニット(30)は、上記実施形態と同様、絶縁カバー(35)、放電基材(34)、及び棒状の放電極(31)を備えている。一方、この変形例3では、上記実施形態と異なり、板状の対向極(32)が設けられておらず、放電極(31)の先端が、熱交換器(20)と対峙している。この熱交換器(20)は、導電性のアルミを主材料として構成され、直流電源(50)の負極側(アース側)と電気的に接続されている。そして、熱交換器(20)は、上記実施形態の対向極(32)を兼ねるように構成されている。つまり、直流電源(50)から放電極(31)と熱交換器(20)とに電圧が印加されると、棒状の放電極(31)の先端から熱交換器(20)の表面に向かってストリーマ放電(60)が進展する。なお、図6では、触媒ユニット(40)の図示を省略しているが、放電極(31)と熱交換器(20)との間のストリーマ放電を許容するように触媒ユニット(40)を配置することができる。

- 被処理空気が流れる空気通路(15)と、該空気通路(15)を流れる空気の空気調和を行う空調手段(20)とを備えた空気調和装置であって、
空気通路(15)には、ストリーマ放電を行う放電手段(30)が設けられ、
上記放電手段(30)は、放電の基端となる放電極(31)と、放電の終端となる対向極(32)とを備え、
上記放電極(31)は、線状ないし棒状に形成されて、上記空調手段(20)に沿うようにして空気の流れと直交する方向に延びて形成されており、
上記対向極(32)は、面状に形成されて上記放電極(31)と略平行に配置されており、
上記放電手段(30)は、上記放電極(31)の先端から対向極(32)に向かってストリーマ放電を行うように構成されていることを特徴とする空気調和装置。 - 請求項1において、
