本発明は、U字状の導体圧着片を有し、二重導体を圧着接続するための導体の圧着接続方法に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
一般に、U字状の導体圧着片を使用する端子圧着装置は、雌型の案内面に隣接した奥部に中央の隆起部で出合う2個の半円孤面を有し、上端を平坦面とした雄型との圧着過程において、図5に示すようにU字状導体圧着片1の両側壁1a、1bの先端は、それぞれ導体2の方向に曲げられて導体2に向けて突出される。この方式の圧着端子は、導体圧着片の側壁を単に曲げるだけで導体2を押し潰して緊締保持できるため、比較的小さな押圧力で作用し広く使用されている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら近年では、特殊用途のために図6に示すように、ステンレス等の硬質導体3の周囲に銅等の軟質導体4を配置し、その周囲を絶縁被覆5で囲んだ補強芯線入りの二重導体電線6が用いられることがある。

この二重導体電線6の二重導体7に圧着端子を接続する場合には、中心の硬質導体3を中央部に位置させて確実に保持しなければ、堅固で信頼性を有する電気接続は期待できない。

しかし、図5に示す従来の圧着構造では、中心の硬質導体3は塑性変化し難しいので必ずしも中央部に位置するとは限らず、左側又は右側に片寄ってしまい、確実な保持ができず、引張力等によって保持が外れてしまうことがある。

本発明の目的は、上述の問題点を解消し、硬質導体を圧着構造の中央部に配置して、確実に緊締保持し得る導体の圧着接続方法を提供することにある。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記目的を達成するための本発明に係る導体の圧着接続方法は、中心部に硬質導体を設けその周囲を軟質導体を囲んだ二重導体に圧着端子を接続する接続方法であり、前記圧着端子のU字状の両側壁から成る2枚の導体圧着片を曲成して、該導体圧着片の底部との間に前記二重導体を緊締包囲すると共に、圧着装置の凸型により前記底部に間隔をおいた2条の溝部を前記二重導体に向けて形成し、前記溝部間に前記硬質導体を位置させることを特徴とする。

【発明の実施の形態】
本発明を図1〜図4に図示の実施例に基づいて詳細に説明する。
図1は電線の導体に接続するための周知の圧着端子を示し、図示を省略する本体10の後方に、底部11から両側に、同じ高さの2枚の導体圧着片12a、12bをU字状に立ち上げている。なお、導体圧着片12a、12bの後部に被覆部を圧着するための圧着片を更にU字状に設ける場合もある。

圧着装置の押型は図2に示すように雄型13と雌型14とから成り、雄型13は導体圧着片12a、12b間の底部11を成型するためのものであって、上面に2条の凸型15a、15bを有している。また、雌型14はほぼ既知の構造とされ、曲面の案内面16a、16bを有し、最奥部には導体圧着片12a、12bの上端を曲成するための2つの半円弧部17a、17bが設けられている。

図1に示す圧着端子を使用して、図3に示すように底部11上に、二重導体電線6の絶縁被覆5を剥離した二重導体7を載せ、これらを圧着装置の雄型13と雌型14との間に挿入する。ここで、雌型14を下降又は雄型を上昇させると、導体圧着片12a、12bは雌型14の案内面16a、16bによって内方に曲げられ、更に雌型14と雄型13を接近させれば導体圧着片12a、12bの先端は雌型14の半円弧部17a、17bによって、図4に示すように下側を向くまで曲成され、導体圧着片12a、12b間の底部11には、凸型15a、15bによる2条の溝部18a、18bが形成される。

これにより、二重導体7は導体圧着片12a、12bにより保持され、硬質導体3は底部11の溝部18a、18b間に位置し、軟質導体4は硬質導体3の周囲で塑性変形され、堅固な接続ができる。

以上説明したように本発明に係る導体の圧着接続方法によれば、底部に形成する2条の溝部により二重導体の硬質導体を略挟み込むことによって、堅固で信頼性のある接続が可能となる。
