Description
置と混合装置と触媒装置とが配置されているディーゼル
エンジンの排気ガス用の排気ガス浄化装置に関する。
ステムなる名称でドイツのシーメンス社(ベルリン及び
ミュンヘン)から販売されている(パンフレット「定置
形ディーゼルエンジン用SiNOx窒素酸化物減少装
置」、注文番号A96001−U91−A232)。こ
の装置を用いることによって、ディーゼルエンジンから
の窒素酸化物の放出を大幅に減少させることができる。
SiNOx排気ガス浄化システムの機能はSCR法(S
elective Catalytic Reduct
ion;選択接触還元法)を基礎としている。その場
合、排気ガスの窒素酸化物は排気ガス管内でアンモニア
又は尿素のような還元剤と混合され、反応室内へ導か
れ、そこで触媒装置によって環境に優しい物質の水素と
窒素とに変換される。還元剤を排気ガスと混合するため
に静止形混合器が使用される。
により、コンパクトに構成された排気ガス浄化装置内に
3つの通路つまり熱分解通路と混合通路と反応通路とを
直列に配置することが知られている。熱分解通路内に
は、尿素水溶液を圧縮空気の作用の下に排気ガス流中に
噴霧する2物質噴霧式ノズル装置が設けられている。こ
こで熱分解が行われる、すなわち尿素がアンモニアと二
酸化炭素とに分解される。混合通路内には、異なった物
質を混合させる3つの十字形混合器が設けられている。
混合された排気ガス流はその次に反応通路内に導かれ、
そこで2つの還元(SCR)触媒を通って、その後酸化
触媒を通って導かれる。ガス状有害物質を除去された排
気ガス流は引き続いて外部へ導出される。
のような陸上車において、又は水上艇のような海上乗り
物においても、ディーゼル用SiNOx排気ガス浄化装
置の組み込み率が低い場合、排気ガス内への還元剤の均
一分布を保証することは困難であることがわかってい
る。つまり、排気ガス管が湾曲していることによって、
排気ガスの流れの非均一分布つまり偏った流れプロフィ
ール、従って噴射された還元剤の非均一分布が生ずる。
短い噴霧区間の場合非常に小さい構成スペースのために
それゆえ排気ガス流内での還元剤の滞留時間はSCR触
媒装置内へ入る前に均一分布を保証するには十分ではな
い。これによって、触媒装置内の個々の段又はモジュー
ルには還元剤が非均一に作用し、このことによって窒素
酸化物の変換は比較的低くなる。
開第4203807号明細書により、入口排気ガス管が
排気ガス管の中心軸線に垂直に接続されている排気ガス
浄化装置が知られている。排気ガス管内に還元剤の噴射
装置と混合装置と触媒装置とが配置されている。混合装
置は排気ガスの流れ方向に見て噴射装置の前に配置され
ている。排気ガス管の中心軸線に垂直に接続されている
入口排気ガス管を通って、排気ガスが正接的に排気ガス
管内へ導入される。これによって排気ガス内に惹き起さ
れた螺旋流は混合装置によって、排気ガスと噴射装置に
よって導入された還元剤とを混合するために利用され
る。しかしながら、正接的な導入によって惹き起された
この種の螺旋流が半径方向に沿った排気ガスの非均一分
布を生ぜしめる欠点がある。

て別の混合装置が設けられている第3の排気ガス浄化装
置を示す。

剤はアンモニア(NH3)であってもよく、又は特に尿
素の水溶液であってもよい。排気ガス管2は触媒装置1

触媒装置10はこの例では3つの上下に配置された段
I、II、IIIを含んでいる。これらの各段I、I
I、IIIはSCR触媒モジュール12であり、排気ガ
スA中の窒素酸化物(NOx)を除去するために使われ
る。このようにして浄化された排気ガスA‘は排気ガス
管2から出口14を通って出てゆく。
