Abstract

[Problem] To provide an item display fixture that allows a user to quickly identify what items were displayed in a given location even when the display inventory of items has been emptied. Description

This invention relates to fixtures for displaying items.

Conventionally, a sales method involves customers selecting the type and quantity of a wide variety of items based on their preferences, placing the selected items in a container such as a basket or bottle, and then purchasing them. In this case, stores selling items will display a wide variety of items in storefronts using display fixtures such as those described in Patent Document 1, which have rod-shaped supports that fit into and support each product on an inclined display surface, or by using multiple trays with specific items placed on specific trays.

In order to avoid missing sales opportunities, stores must constantly replenish items so that specific items are always available in specific trays. However, if a certain item is purchased by many customers and the specific tray becomes empty, the store may not be able to determine which item is no longer in stock, which can cause problems with replenishing the items.

On at least one side of the mount 2, areas 21 for arranging each of the trays 3A to 3L are formed by printing or the like so that the trays 3A to 3L arranged on the mount 2 are arranged in predetermined positions. For example, in an embodiment of the present invention, a total of 12 areas 21 are formed by printing on one side of the mount 2, in three vertical rows and four horizontal rows.

In area 21, graphics and characters associated with the specific character erasers 5 stored in each of trays 3A to 3L are displayed by printing or other means.

The graphics associated with the specific character erasers 5 stored in each of the trays 3A to 3L include, for example, photographs or pictures of the character erasers 5 themselves stored in each of the trays 3A to 3L, designs that are modeled after the character erasers 5 themselves, and pictures of the characters depicted on the character erasers 5.

Trays 3A-3L according to the first embodiment of the present invention will be further described using Figures 1 and 2.

Figure 2 is a front view of trays 3A to 3L of the first embodiment, as seen from the direction A in Figure 1. Trays 3A to 3L are integrally molded from transparent polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and arranged in three columns and four rows, a total of 12 trays, according to the number and positions of the areas 21 formed on one side of the backing sheet 2.

Each of the trays 3A to 3L has a roughly rectangular bottom wall 31A to 31L that forms the bottom surface of the tray 3A to 3L, and side walls 32A to 32L that stand upright around the periphery of the bottom wall 31A to 31L, forming a concave structure with a roughly rectangular opening at the top. Because the trays 3A to 3L are made of transparent polyethylene terephthalate (PET), the bottom wall 31 and side walls 32 that form each of the trays 3A to 3L are transparent.

Next, we will explain how to use the item display fixture 1 according to the first embodiment of the present invention. First, we will explain how to start using the item display fixture 1.

First, the store staff places the backing sheet 2 in the character eraser 5 display space in the store.

Next, the store staff places multiple trays 3 on a backing sheet 2 placed in the character eraser 5 display space in the store. At that time, the store staff places trays 3A to 3L on the backing sheet 2 so that the bottom walls 31 that make up each of trays 3A to 3L fit into the area 21 formed on the backing sheet 2. Next, the store staff unpacks the character erasers 5 that should be stored in each of the trays 3A to 3L, which are packed by type, and places them into each of the trays 3A to 3L as display stock of character erasers 5. Once the specified character erasers 5 are stored in each of the trays 3A to 3L, the item display fixture 1 is ready for use (Figure 3).

Next, we will explain what happens if one of the display stocks of character erasers 5 stored in each of trays 3A to 3L becomes empty.

If a particular character eraser 5 is purchased by many customers, one of the trays 3A to 3L that contained that character eraser 5 will become empty. In this case, store staff must replenish the character eraser 5 in question by replenishing the display stock from the store's back-of-house inventory or placing an additional order for that character eraser 5 from a wholesaler, etc.

At this time, the store staff looks into one of the empty trays 3A to 3L from above, and through the transparent bottom wall 31, visually confirms the predetermined graphic or character associated with the character eraser 5 displayed in area 21, and identifies the type of character eraser 5 to be stored in one of the empty trays 3A to 3L. Based on this, the store staff replenishes the character erasers 5 as described above. In the case of this embodiment, the store staff visually confirms the design of the character eraser 5 and the name of the character depicted on the character eraser 5, and after identifying the type of character eraser 5 to be stored in one of the empty trays 3A to 3L, replenishes the character erasers 5.

With item display fixture 1, even if the display inventory of an item becomes empty, the graphics and text associated with the item are visible from the bottom wall 31 of one of the empty trays 3A-3L, allowing the user to immediately identify what item was displayed in a given location. This allows store staff to quickly replenish the empty tray 3A-3L with new items, and allows customers to learn what types of items are available at the store.

Furthermore, with the item display fixture 1, the graphics and text associated with the items are visible from the bottom wall 31 of the trays 3A-3L, making it easy to identify the types of items to be stored on each of the multiple trays when preparing for sale, allowing store staff to carry out sales preparation work efficiently and in a short amount of time.

Furthermore, with the item display fixture 1, even if the display inventory of items becomes empty, the design of numerous images resembling the items can be seen through the bottom wall 31 of any of the empty trays 3A-3L, adding a lively atmosphere to the display.

Second Embodiment
A second embodiment of the present invention will now be described.

Figure 4 is a perspective view of the item display fixture 1a according to the second embodiment.

The configuration of the item display fixture 1a in the second embodiment is the same as the configuration of the item display fixture 1 in the first embodiment, with the addition of an outer box 6, which is an outer container.

The backing 2 and trays 3A-3L are the same as those in the item display fixture 1 of the first embodiment described above, so common components are given the same reference numerals and detailed descriptions are omitted.

Item display fixture 1a is composed of mount 2, trays 3A-3L, and outer box 6. Item display fixture 1a has mount 2 and trays 3A-3L housed inside outer box 6. Each of trays 3A-3L housed inside outer box 6 is arranged on mount 2 so that its bottom wall 31 fits within area 21 formed on mount 2 housed inside outer box 6.

The outer box 6 is a rectangular box-shaped member made of cardboard or other paper, and is configured to accommodate the mount 2 and trays 3A-3L inside. The outer box 6 is composed of a bottom wall 61, a front wall 62, a rear wall 63, a left side wall 64, a right side wall 65, and a top lid 66. The internal dimensions of the outer box 6 are set so that it can accommodate the mount 2 and trays 3A-3L without excess or deficiency.

The box bottom wall 61 is a rectangular portion that forms the bottom surface of the outer box 6. In the item display fixture 1a, a backing sheet 2 is placed on the box bottom wall 61. Similarly to the first embodiment, the trays 3A-3L are arranged on the backing sheet 2 placed on the box bottom wall 61 so that the bottom walls 31 fit into the areas 21 formed on the backing sheet 2.

The box front wall 62, box back wall 63, box left wall 64, and box right wall 65 are rectangular sections that make up the sides of the outer box 6. The box front wall 62, box back wall 63, box left wall 64, and box right wall 65 each stand upright from each side of the box bottom wall 61, and adjacent walls are connected at right angles to each other.

The box top lid 66 is a part that forms the top lid of the outer box 6. By opening the box top lid 66, the top surfaces of the trays 3A-3L contained inside the outer box 6 are exposed, and the specified graphics or text associated with the items displayed in area 21 can be seen through the transparent bottom wall 31.

The box top lid 66 is composed of a box top wall portion 661 that forms the top surface of the outer box 6, a front tuck 662 that faces the inside of the box front wall 62 when the box top lid 66 is closed, a left tuck 664 that faces the box left side wall 64, and a right tuck 665 that faces the box right side wall 65.

One end of the box top wall 661 is connected to the box back wall 63, and by rotating around this connection, it functions as a top lid. To close the open box top lid 66, the front tuck 662, left tuck 664, and right tuck 665 are inserted into the inner surfaces of the corresponding box front wall 62, left side wall 64, and right side wall 65, respectively, while the box top wall 661 is rotated in a direction facing the box bottom wall 61.

Next, we will explain how to use the item display fixture 1a according to the second embodiment. First, we will explain how to start using the item display fixture 1a.

Item display fixture 1a is stored in outer box 6 with mount 2 and trays 3A-3L housed inside. Store staff place the stored item display fixture 1a in the item display space within the store and open the box top lid 66 of outer box 6.

At this time, the backing sheet 2 and trays 3A-3L remain aligned so that the bottom walls 31 fit into the areas 21 formed on the backing sheet 2 without shifting within the outer box 6, since the internal dimensions of the outer box 6 are set so that the backing sheet 2 and the integrally molded trays 3A-3L can be accommodated without any excess or deficiency.

Store staff can look into trays 3A-3L from above, see the predetermined graphics or characters associated with the character erasers 5 displayed in area 21 through the transparent bottom wall 31, and identify the type of item each tray 3A-3L contains.

In this embodiment, the store staff visually checks the design of the character eraser 5 and the name of the character depicted on the character eraser 5, and identifies the type of character eraser 5 to be placed in each of the trays 3A to 3L.

With item display fixture 1a, backing 2 and trays 3A-3L arranged on backing 2 remain aligned within outer box 6 without shifting, and bottom walls 31 remain aligned within areas 21 formed on backing 2. This allows store staff to easily identify the types of items housed on each of trays 3A-3L simply by opening box top lid 66 of outer box 6, enabling sales preparation work to be carried out more efficiently and in a shorter time. It also achieves the same effects as item display fixture 1.

[Third embodiment]
A third embodiment of the present invention will be described. First, the configuration of an item display fixture 1b according to the third embodiment will be described. Figure 5 is a perspective view of the item display fixture 1b according to the third embodiment.

The item display fixture 1b according to the third embodiment is configured, like the item display fixture 1a according to the second embodiment, with a backing 2, trays 3A-3L, and an outer box 6b. The backing 2 and trays 3A-3L are the same as those in the item display fixture 1 according to the first embodiment described above, so the same reference numerals are used for common components and detailed descriptions are omitted.

Item display fixture 1b differs from item display fixture 1a in that it has a section (hereinafter referred to as "display information display section 669b") on the box's upper wall section 661b that displays information about the items to be displayed during display and sale. This display information display section 669b displayed on the box's upper wall section 661b functions as in-store display media when items are displayed and sold within the store.

For example, in an embodiment of the present invention, the notice information display section 669b is disposed on the surface of the box upper wall section 661b that becomes the outside of the box when the box top lid 66c of the outer box 6b is closed (hereinafter referred to as the "outer surface"), near the front tuck 662.

The information display unit 669b arranged on the upper wall 661b of the box displays the collective names of the multiple items stored on each of the trays 3A-3L, as well as the names of each of the multiple items stored on each of the trays 3A-3L. The item display fixture 1b is stored in an outer box 6b with the mount 2 and trays 3A-3L housed inside. The store staff places the stored item display fixture 1b in the item display space within the store, opens the box top lid 66b of the outer box 6b, identifies the type of character eraser 5 housed in each of the trays 3A-3L, and then places the character eraser 5 corresponding to each of the trays 3A-3L. Up to this point, the procedure is the same as in the second embodiment described above.

The store staff then adjusts the posted information display unit 669b on the box's upper wall 661b so that it faces the box's front wall 62b.

For example, in this embodiment of the invention, the posted information display unit 669b is located on the outer surface of the box's upper wall portion 661b, near the front tuck 662b. Therefore, the store staff performs the following steps so that the posted information display unit 669b faces the box's front wall 62b.

First, the store staff separates the left tuck 664b and right tuck 665b of the box top lid 66b from the box top wall 661b. Next, the store staff folds the box top wall 661b in half along the fold line 668b so that the notice information display section 669b faces the box front wall 62b. The fold line 668b is a line formed by scoring or other methods at a distance of h/2 from the junction of the box top wall 661b and the box back wall 63b, where h is the distance from the junction of the box top wall 661b and the box back wall 63b to the junction of the box top wall 661b and the front tuck 662b.

With the item display fixture 1b, stores can use the outer box 6b as a display medium in-store when displaying and selling items within the store. This allows stores to increase the product appeal of the items and hopefully attract more customers.

A fourth embodiment of the present invention will be described. First, the configuration of an item display fixture 1c according to the fourth embodiment will be described. Fig. 7 is a perspective view of the item display fixture 1c according to the fourth embodiment. Fig. 8 is a front view of the container display tray 4 constituting the item display fixture 1c according to the fourth embodiment, as seen from the direction B shown in Fig. 7.

The configuration of the item display fixture 1c according to the fourth embodiment is the same as the configuration of the item display fixture 1a according to the second embodiment, with the addition of a container display tray 4. Because the trays 3A to 3L are the same as those in the item display fixture 1 according to the first embodiment described above, the same reference numerals are used for common components, and detailed descriptions will be omitted.

Item display fixture 1c is composed of mount 2c, trays 3A-3L, outer box 6c, and container display tray 4. Item display fixture 1c contains mount 2c, trays 3A-3L, and container display tray 4 inside outer box 6c. Trays 3A-3L contained inside outer box 6c are arranged on mount 2c so that their bottom walls 31 fit within areas 21 formed on mount 2c contained inside outer box 6c. Furthermore, container display tray 4 contained inside outer box 6c is positioned on mount 2c so that it is adjacent to trays 3A-3D.

The container display tray 4 is a tray for displaying sales containers 7, which are containers for placing items selected for purchase by customers. Like trays 3A-3L, the container display tray 4 is placed on the backing 2c.

In this embodiment, the sales container 7 is a bottle-shaped container made of synthetic resin such as acrylic, and is composed of a bottle body with a circular bottom and a bottle cap that seals the bottle.

In this embodiment, the container display tray 4 is a member formed by molding a synthetic resin such as polyethylene terephthalate (PET) using a method such as sheet molding. This allows the mount 2c, trays 3A-3L arranged on the mount 2c, and container display tray 4 arranged on the mount 2c to remain aligned without shifting within the outer box 6c, with the bottom walls 31 each remaining within the area 21 formed on the mount 2.

Next, we will explain how to use the item display fixture 1c according to the fourth embodiment. First, we will explain how to start using the item display fixture 1c.

The item display fixture 1c is stored in an outer box 6c, with a backing 2c, multiple trays 3, and a container display tray 4 housed inside. The store staff places the stored item display fixture 1c in the item display space within the store, opens the box top lid 66c of the outer box 6c, identifies the type of character eraser 5 housed in each of the trays 3A to 3L, and then places the character eraser 5 corresponding to each of the trays 3A to 3L. Up to this point, the procedure is the same as in the second embodiment described above.

The store staff then arranges multiple sales containers 7 on the container display tray 4. Now, the character erasers 5 and sales containers 7 are displayed on the item display fixture 1c.

When a customer purchases a character eraser 5 at a store, they pick up a sales container 7 displayed on the container display tray 4, then select a character eraser 5 that suits their taste from the multiple types of items stored in each of the trays 3A to 3L, and place that character eraser 5 in the sales container 7. Once the customer has completed their selection of character erasers 5, they take the sales container 7 containing the character eraser 5 to the store's cash register and purchase the selected character eraser 5 along with the sales container 7.

The procedure to be followed when any of the display stocks of character erasers 5 stored in trays 3A to 3L becomes empty is the same as in the first embodiment described above, so a description thereof will be omitted.

The item display fixture 1c allows sales containers 7 to be displayed near the items, increasing convenience for customers when purchasing items.

Although the materials for the mount and outer box according to the embodiment of the present invention have been described as being cardboard or other paper, the materials for the mount and outer box are not limited to this and may be wood or metal such as aluminum.
