【発明の詳細な説明】
【０００１】
【産業上の利用分野】本発明は、自動車用ワイヤハーネ
ス等の接続に用いられる防水型のコネクタに関するもの
である。

【従来の技術】図４は防水コネクタａの後部を示し、防
水栓ｂ（図５参照）の嵌合室ｃを有し、嵌合室ｃの前方
に多数の端子収容室ｄが形成されている。各端子収容室
ｄの内周面には端子金具ｅの挿入姿勢規制用の凹溝ｄ1
が形成され、また端子金具ｅの先端外面には該凹溝ｄ1
に係入する挿入姿勢規制用の突部ｅ1 が形成され、突部
ｅ1 を凹溝ｄ1 に係合させつつ端子金具ｅを端子収容室
ｄに正しく挿入することにより、端子金具ｅは端子収容
室ｄ内において係止手段（図示せず）により確実に係止
される。
【０００３】そして、図５に示される如く、防水栓ｂに
おいて該端子収容室ｄに対応して形成された挿通孔ｆの
周縁には該凹溝ｄ1 に一致する挿入姿勢規制用の目印ｆ
1 が形成されている。従って、コネクタｄに対する端子
金具ｅの挿入作業時においては、作業者は突部ｅ1 を目
印ｆ1 に一致させつつ端子金具ｅを防水栓ｂの挿通孔ｆ
からコネクタの端子収容室ｄに挿入しているものである
が、目印を見誤まる場合がしばしば発生し、この場合に
は防水栓ｂがゴム等の弾性体で形成されているので端子
金具ｅが誤って挿通孔ｆに挿入され、これを引き抜いて
挿入し直すための手数が必要とされている（特開平２−
２０４９８０号）。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】本発明は上記した点に
着目して為されたものであり、防水コネクタの端子収容
室に対する端子金具の挿入姿勢の誤りを挿入初期におい
て検知し得るようにしたものである。
【０００５】
【課題を解決するための手段】上記の目的を達成するた
め、本発明においては、壁に端子金具に形成した挿入姿
勢規制用凸部の係合する溝又はスリットを形成した複数
の端子収容室を有するコネクタハウジングの後部におい
て該端子収容室に対応した円形のシール用挿通孔を有す
る防水栓を嵌合し、該コネクタハウジングの後端に装着
される防水栓押えカバーに該円形のシール用挿通孔に対
応した挿通孔を形成すると共に該挿通孔において該端子
金具に形成した該挿入姿勢規制用凸部の通過を許容する
挿入姿勢規制用の凹部を形成して成ることを特徴とす
る。

【作用】端子金具の挿入姿勢規制用凸部が防水栓押えカ
バーの挿入姿勢規制用凹部に一致した場合において該端
子金具は端子収容室に挿入され、該挿入姿勢規制用凸部
が該端子収容室の壁に形成された溝又はスリットに係合
する。

【実施例】図１は防水型コネクタの平面図、図２は同上
のＸ−Ｘ線断面図を示す。コネクタハウジングＡには複
数の端子収容室１が前後方向に貫通して形成され、各端
子収容室１の上壁２には片持ち梁状の可撓係止片３が上
壁２との間に可撓変位許容空間４を有して一体に設けら
れている。端子収容室１の底壁５には案内溝６′乃至は
案内用スリット６が形成される。
【０００８】コネクタハウジングＡの後部には防水栓Ｂ
の嵌合室７が形成され、該嵌合室７に収容されるゴム等
の弾性部材から成る防水栓Ｂには各端子収容室１に対応
して円形のシール用挿通孔８が形成されている。Ｃはコ
ネクタハウジングＡの後端部に被冠される防水栓押えカ
バーであり、周壁に形成された可撓アーム９の係止孔９
ａをコネクタハウジングＡの周面における係止突起１０
に係合させて固定し、防水栓Ｂの脱落を阻止する。防水
栓押えカバーＣには防水栓Ｂのシール用挿通孔８に対応
して四角状の挿通孔１１が形成され、挿通孔１１におけ
る前記案内溝６′乃至案内用スリット６側に端子金具Ｄ
の挿入姿勢規制用の凹部１１ａが形成されている。
【０００９】雄型端子金具Ｄの中間部１２の底面には挿
入姿勢規制用の凸部１３が形成されている。上記構成に
おいて、予め電線Ｗと接続された端子金具Ｄを、その挿
入姿勢用の凸部１３を防水栓押えカバーＣの挿入姿勢規
制用の凹部１１ａと一致させつつ挿通孔１１に挿入して
防水壁Ｂのシール用挿通孔８を通過させ、端子収容室１
内において雄タブ状電気接触部１４を端子収容室１を形
成する筒状部材１５の前部開口１５ａより突出させた状
態で中間部１２の肩部分を可撓係止片３と係合させて固
定する。この際に、前記凸部１３は案内溝６′から案内
用スリット６に係合し、端子収容室１内において端子金
具Ｄの姿勢を安定させる。
【００１０】１６は端子固定部材であり、図２の仮係止
状態からコネクタハウジング内に押し込んでスペーサ１
７を可撓変位許容空間４内に位置させることにより、可
撓係止片３と端子金具Ｄとの係合を確保する。

【発明の効果】本発明は上記した如くに成るものである
から、防水コネクタに対する端子金具の挿入初期におい
て挿入姿勢を確実に規制できるので、端子金具に設けた
挿入姿勢規制用の凸部を端子収容室の壁に形成した溝又
はスリットに容易に係合させることができる。 また、本
発明においては、防水栓に形成されるシール用挿通孔が
円形であるので、端子金具挿通後において該端子金具に
接続した電線の周囲に密着してシール作用を全うするこ
とができる効果を有する。

    (57)【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】 壁に端子金具に形成した挿入姿勢規制用
    凸部の係合する溝又はスリットを形成した複数の端子収
    容室を有するコネクタハウジングの後部において該端子
    収容室に対応した円形のシール用挿通孔を有する防水栓
    を嵌合し、該コネクタハウジングの後端に装着される防
    水栓押えカバーに該円形のシール用挿通孔に対応した挿
    通孔を形成すると共に該挿通孔において該端子金具に形
    成した該挿入姿勢規制用凸部の通過を許容する挿入姿勢
    規制用の凹部を形成して成ることを特徴とする防水コネ
    クタ。
