Claims (10)
- ケイ酸塩ガラスであって、
前記ケイ酸塩ガラスは、少なくとも15kgf(約147N)のビッカースクラック開始閾値と、歪み点とを有し、かつ
前記ケイ酸塩ガラスは:
少なくとも約50mol%のSiO2;
少なくとも約10mol%のR2O(ここでR2OはNa2Oを含む);
Al2O3(ここで−0.5mol%≦Al2O3(mol%)−R2O(mol%)≦2mol%);及び
B2O3(ここでB2O3(mol%)−(R2O(mol%)−Al2O3(mol%))≧4.5mol%)
を含み、
前記ケイ酸塩ガラスの仮想温度は、前記ケイ酸塩ガラスの組成を有する過冷却液体の粘度が1012ポアズ(1011Pa・s)となる温度以上である、ケイ酸塩ガラス。 - 前記ケイ酸塩ガラスは、少なくとも約800MPaの圧縮応力下にある層を有し、
前記層は、前記ガラスの表面から前記ガラス内に少なくとも30μmの層深さだけ延在する、請求項1に記載のケイ酸塩ガラス。 - 前記ケイ酸塩ガラスは:少なくとも約50mol%のSiO2;約12mol%〜約22mol%のAl2O3;約4.5mol%〜約10mol%のB2O3;約10mol%〜約20mol%のNa2O;0mol%〜約5mol%のK2O;0mol%≦MgO≦6mol%;0mol%≦ZnO≦6mol%;並びに任意に、CaO、BaO及びSrOのうちの少なくとも1つを含み、ここで0mol%≦CaO+SrO+BaO≦2mol%である、請求項1又は2に記載のケイ酸塩ガラス。
- 0mol%〜約6mol%の少なくとも1つの遷移金属着色剤を更に含み、前記遷移金属酸化物着色剤は、V2O5、NiO、CuO、Cr2O3、MnO2、Fe2O3、Co3O4、Nb2O5及びTiO2のうちの少なくとも1つを含む、請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載のケイ酸塩ガラス。
- P2O5を更に含み、ここで4.5mol%≦B2O3(mol%)+P2O5(mol%)≦10mol%である、請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載のケイ酸塩ガラス。
- 前記ケイ酸塩ガラスは、前記ガラスが約109ポアズ(108Pa・s)〜約1013ポアズ(1012Pa・s)の範囲の粘度を有する第1の温度から、歪み点未満である第2の温度まで急速冷却される、請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載のケイ酸塩ガラス。
- 前記ケイ酸塩ガラスは、前記ケイ酸塩ガラスが約30キロポアズ(3.0kPa・s)〜約40キロポアズ(4.0kPa・s)の範囲の粘度を有する温度に等しいジルコン破壊温度を有する、請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載のケイ酸塩ガラス。
- ケイ酸塩ガラスであって、該ケイ酸塩ガラスの組成を有する過冷却液体の粘度が1012ポアズ(1011Pa・s)となる温度以上である仮想温度、及び少なくとも15kgf(約147N)のビッカースクラック開始閾値を有するケイ酸塩ガラスを作製する方法において、
前記ケイ酸塩ガラスは:少なくとも約50mol%のSiO2;少なくとも約10mol%のR2O(ここでR2OはNa2Oを含む);Al2O3;及びB2O3(ここでB2O3(mol%)−(R2O(mol%)−Al2O3(mol%))≧2mol%)を含み;
前記方法は:
a.前記ケイ酸塩ガラスを、該ケイ酸塩ガラスのアニール点を超える第1の温度まで加熱する工程;及び
b.前記ケイ酸塩ガラスを、前記ガラスが約109ポアズ(108Pa・s)〜約1013ポアズ(1011Pa・s)の範囲の粘度を有する第1の温度から、前記ケイ酸塩ガラスの歪み点未満である第2の温度まで急速冷却する工程であって、ここで急速冷却された前記ケイ酸塩ガラスは、少なくとも15kgf(約147N)のビッカースクラック開始閾値を有する、工程;
を有してなる方法。 - 圧縮応力下にある層を形成するために前記ケイ酸塩ガラスをイオン交換することを更に含み、
前記層は、前記ケイ酸塩ガラスの表面から前記ケイ酸塩ガラス内に、ある層深さだけ延在する、請求項8に記載の方法。 - 前記ガラスは:少なくとも約50mol%のSiO2;約9mol%〜約22mol%のAl2O3;約3mol%〜約10mol%のB2O3;約9mol%〜約20mol%のNa2O;0mol%〜約5mol%のK2O;0mol%≦MgO≦6mol%;0mol%≦ZnO≦6mol%;並びに任意にCaO、BaO及びSrOのうちの少なくとも1つを含み、ここで0mol%≦CaO+SrO+BaO≦2mol%である、請求項8又は9に記載の方法。
