Abstract
Description
本開示での使用に好適な剥離ライナーの種類は、該ライナーが研磨粒子に対する静電引力、又はライナーと研磨粒子との間の静電粘着を生じて、研磨粒子をライナーに留まらせ又は貼り付かせることができる限り限定されない。図面を参照して上述したように、ライナーは、該ライナーの第1の表面上に配置された剥離コーティングを有する。
本開示に使用できる好適な研磨粒子としては、溶融酸化アルミニウム、熱処理した酸化アルミニウム、白色溶融酸化アルミニウム、黒色炭化ケイ素、緑色炭化ケイ素、二ホウ化チタン、炭化ホウ素、炭化タングステン、炭化チタン、ダイヤモンド(天然及び合成の両方)、シリカ、酸化鉄、クロミア、セリア、ジルコニア、チタニア、ケイ酸塩、酸化スズ、立方晶窒化ホウ素、ガーネット、溶融アルミナジルコニア、ゾルゲル研磨粒子等が挙げられる。ゾルゲル研磨粒子の例は、米国特許第4,314,827号(Leitheiser et al.)、同第4,623,364号(Cottringer et al)、同第4,744,802号(Schwabel)、同第4,770,671号(Monroe et al.)及び同第4,881,951号(Wood et al.)に見出すことができる。
第1のバインダー(メークコート)として有用な材料は、第2のバインダー(サイズコート)としても有用である。
第1のバインダー、第2のバインダー、及び任意の第3のバインダーは、室温(23℃)で固体である微粒子状のガラス化可能なバインダー材料であってもよい。この文脈で、ガラス化可能な、とは、(i)熱硬化性液体組成物の硬化(可視光硬化又は紫外線硬化等)を介して、又は(ii)半結晶性若しくは非結晶性であり得る熱可塑性材料の冷却により、固体となることを意味する。いくつかの態様では、微粒子状のガラス化可能なバインダー材料は、特に、以前にメークコートを塗布された剛性基材用のサイズコートとして使用される場合、研磨粒子と混合されてもよい。微粒子状のガラス化可能なバインダー材料は、好ましくはガラス化可能な有機ポリマー粒子を含む。微粒子状のガラス化可能なポリマーは、好ましくは加熱において軟化して、研磨粒子表面又は隣接するガラス化可能なバインダー粒子の表面のいずれかを湿潤させ得るように十分に流動することが可能なガラス化可能な液体をもたらすことが可能である。
用語「剛性」は、少なくとも(at lease)自己支持性である基材を記載し、即ち、基材はそれ自体の重量下で実質的に変形しない。剛性によって、基材が全く可撓性を有さないことを意味するわけではない。剛性基材は、適用荷重下で変形又は屈曲され得るが、非常に低い圧縮性を提供する。一実施形態では、剛性基材は、1×106ポンド/平方インチ(psi)(6.9GPa(7×104kg/cm2))以上の剛性率を有する材料を含む。別の実施形態では、剛性基材は、10×106psi(68.9GPa(7×105kg/cm2))以上の剛性率を有する材料を含む。
第1の研磨移動物品を以下のように作製した。
第2の移動研磨物品は以下のように作製した。
研磨ダイヤモンド粒子のみを使用する代わりに、ポリエステル樹脂バインダー及び研磨ダイヤモンド粒子を含む粉末を使用したことを除いて、実施例2と同様に第3の移動研磨物品を作製した。
研磨粒子を含む第1の剛性基材を以下のように作製した。
研磨粒子を含む第2の剛性基材を、実施例4に従って、第2のバインダーを加えることにより以下のように変更して作製した。

Claims (31)
- 研磨物品の作製に有用な移動物品であって、
対向する第1の表面及び第2の表面を有する第1のライナーであって、前記第1の表面が、ASTM D3330/D3330M−04によって約700グラム/インチ(17.8g/m)未満の剥離値を有する、第1のライナーと、
前記第1のライナーの前記第1の表面上に配置された研磨粒子を含む粉末と、を含む移動物品。 - 対向する第1の表面及び第2の表面を有する第2のライナーを更に含み、前記第2のライナーの前記第1の表面が、ASTM D3330/D3330M−04に従って測定された約700グラム/インチ(17.8g/m)未満の剥離値を有し、前記第2のライナーが、前記第2のライナーの前記第1の表面が前記研磨粒子と接触するように前記研磨粒子上に配置されている、請求項1に記載の移動物品。
- 前記第1のライナー及び第2のライナーの少なくとも一方が、可撓性裏材と、前記第1のライナー及び第2のライナーの前記第1の表面及び第2の表面の少なくとも一方上に配置された剥離コーティングと、を含み、前記剥離コーティングが、フッ素含有材料、ケイ素含有材料、フルオロポリマー、シリコーンポリマー、又は12〜30個の炭素原子を含むアルキル基を有するアルキル(メタ)アクリレートを含むモノマーから誘導されたポリ(メタ)アクリレートエステルを含む、請求項2に記載の移動物品。
- 前記可撓性裏材が、高密度クラフト紙、多層塗布紙及び高分子フィルムからなる群から選択される、請求項2に記載の移動物品。
- 前記高分子フィルムが、ポリエステル、ポリカーボネート、ポリプロピレン、ポリエチレン、セルロース、ポリアミド、ポリイミド、ポリシリコーン及びポリテトラフルオロエチレンからなる群から選択される、請求項4に記載の移動物品。
- 前記研磨粒子が、溶融酸化アルミニウム、熱処理した酸化アルミニウム、白色溶融酸化アルミニウム、黒色炭化ケイ素、緑色炭化ケイ素、二ホウ化チタン、炭化ホウ素、炭化タングステン、炭化チタン、ダイヤモンド、シリカ、酸化鉄、クロミア、セリア、ジルコニア、チタニア、ケイ酸塩、酸化スズ、立方晶窒化ホウ素、ガーネット、溶融アルミナジルコニア、ゾルゲル研磨粒子、研磨凝塊、金属系微粒子、及びそれらの組み合わせからなる群から選択される、請求項1に記載の移動物品。
- 前記研磨粒塊がダイヤモンド及び酸化ケイ素を含む、請求項6に記載の移動物品。
- 前記粒子が約150マイクロメートル未満の平均サイズを有する、請求項1に記載の移動物品。
- 前記粉末が、熱可塑性樹脂粒子又は熱硬化性樹脂粒子の少なくとも一方を更に含む、請求項1に記載の移動物品。
- 前記熱可塑性樹脂粒子が約60℃を超える融点を有する、請求項9に記載の移動物品。
- 前記熱可塑性樹脂粒子が、ポリエステル及びエポキシからなる群から選択される、請求項9に記載の移動物品。
- 前記熱硬化性樹脂粒子が、フェノール、エポキシ、ウレタン、エチレン系不飽和樹脂、及びそれらの組み合わせからなる群から選択される、請求項9に記載の移動物品。
- 前記第1のライナー及び第2のライナーの少なくとも一方がテクスチャード加工されている、請求項2に記載の移動物品。
- 定着研磨物品の作製方法であって、
対向する第1の表面及び第2の表面を有する剛性基材を提供する工程と、
前記剛性基材の前記第1の表面上に第1のバインダーを塗布する工程と、
移動物品を提供する工程であって、前記移動物品が、
対向する第1の表面及び第2の表面を有する第1のライナーであって、前記第1の表面が、ASTM D3330/D3330M−04によって約700グラム/インチ(17.8g/m)未満の剥離値を有する、第1のライナー、及び
前記第1のライナーの前記第1の表面上に配置された研磨粒子を含む粉末を含有する、移動物品を提供する工程と、
前記第1のライナーが前記剛性基材の前記第1の表面に塗布された前記第1のバインダー上に、前記研磨粒子が前記第1のバインダーと接触するように配置する工程と、
前記剛性基材から前記第1のライナーを除去する工程と、
前記第1のバインダーを硬化させることにより、前記研磨粒子を前記剛性基材に固着させる工程と、を含む定着研磨物品方法。 - 前記移動物品が、対向する第1の表面及び第2の表面を有する第2のライナーを更に含み、前記第2のライナーの第1の表面が、ASTM D3330/D3330M−04に従って測定された約700グラム/インチ(17.8g/m)未満の剥離値を有し、前記第2のライナーが、前記第2のライナーの前記第1の側が前記研磨粒子と接触するように前記研磨粒子上に配置されている、請求項14に記載の方法。
- 前記第1のライナーを前記第1のバインダー上に配置する工程の前に、前記第2のライナーを前記移動物品から除去して、前記第1のライナーの前記第1の表面に接着された研磨粒子を残留させる工程を更に含む、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 前記第1のライナー及び前記関連した研磨粒子を前記第1のバインダー上に配置する前に、前記第1のバインダーが少なくとも部分的に硬化される、請求項14に記載の方法。
- 前記第1のバインダーが実質的に溶媒を含まない、請求項14に記載の方法。
- 前記第1のバインダーの硬化後、前記第1のバインダー上に第2のバインダーを塗布する工程を更に含む、請求項14に記載の方法。
- 前記剛性基材が、金属、金属合金、金属−マトリクス複合材料、金属化プラスチック及びポリマーマトリクス補強複合材料からなる群から選択される、請求項14に記載の方法。
- 前記剛性基材が、前記対向する第1の表面及び第2の表面の間の高さの相違が前記基材上の任意の2つの地点において10マイクロメートル未満であるように実質的に平坦である、請求項14に記載の方法。
- 前記剛性基材が明確な非平坦形状を有する、請求項14に記載の方法。
- 前記剛性基材が、内径を有する中空の円筒チューブであり、少なくとも前記第1のバインダー及び前記研磨粒子が前記内径に付着される、請求項14に記載の方法。
- 前記研磨粒子が、溶融酸化アルミニウム、熱処理した酸化アルミニウム、白色溶融酸化アルミニウム、黒色炭化ケイ素、緑色炭化ケイ素、二ホウ化チタン、炭化ホウ素、炭化タングステン、炭化チタン、ダイヤモンド、シリカ、酸化鉄、クロミア、セリア、ジルコニア、チタニア、ケイ酸塩、酸化スズ、立方晶窒化ホウ素、ガーネット、溶融アルミナジルコニア、ゾルゲル研磨粒子、研磨凝塊、金属系研磨粒子、及びそれらの組み合わせからなる群から選択される、請求項14に記載の方法。
- 前記研磨凝塊がダイヤモンド及び二酸化ケイ素を含む、請求項24に記載の方法。
- 前記研磨粒子が約150マイクロメートル未満の平均サイズを有する、請求項14に記載の方法。
- 前記粉末が、熱可塑性樹脂粒子又は熱硬化性樹脂粒子の少なくとも一方を更に含む、請求項14に記載の方法。
- 前記熱可塑性樹脂粒子が約60℃を超える融点を有する、請求項27に記載の方法。
- 前記熱可塑性樹脂粒子が、ポリエステル及びエポキシからなる群から選択される、請求項27に記載の方法。
- 前記熱硬化性樹脂粒子が、フェノール、エポキシ、ウレタン、エチレン系不飽和樹脂、及びそれらの組み合わせからなる群から選択される、請求項27に記載の方法。
