Abstract
【解決手段】活性水素(メタ)アクリレート単量体を含むビニル単量体100重量部に対して、多官能ラジカル重合性単量体0.05重量部以上2.0重量部未満及び多官能イソシアネート10〜400重量部の割合で含む混合物由来の重合体成分を含み、非反応性有機溶媒を実質的に含まないことを特徴とする球状ウレタン系樹脂粒子。

Description
なお、非反応性有機溶媒の非反応とは、ビニル単量体、多官能イソシアネートに含まれるビニル基やイソシアネート基との重合性を有しないという意味である。具体的な非反応性有機溶媒としては、例えば、ブタン、ヘキサン、シクロヘキサン、アセトン、クロロホルム、ジクロロメタン、イソオクタン、オクタン、ノナン等の脂肪族炭化水素、トルエン、キシレン等の芳香族炭化水素、酢酸エチル等が挙げられる。
ビニル単量体における活性水素(メタ)アクリレート単量体の割合は、ビニル単量体100重量部中の5〜95重量部が好ましい。より好ましくは、10〜90重量部である。
耐候性に優れることから、活性水素非含有(メタ)アクリレート単量体が好ましい。
なお、球状粒子中のビニル単量体、多官能ラジカル重合性単量体及び多官能イソシアネート混合物由来の重合体成分の含有量と、対応する単量体の使用量とは、ほぼ一致している。
両性イオン界面活性剤としては、ラウリルジメチルアミンオキサイドや、リン酸エステル系又は亜リン酸エステル系界面活性剤が挙げられる。
ノニオン性界面活性剤としては、例えば、ポリオキシエチレンアルキルエーテル、ポリオキシエチレンアルキルフェニルエーテル、ポリオキシエチレン脂肪酸エステル、ソルビタン脂肪酸エステル、ポリオキシソルビタン脂肪酸エステル、ポリオキシエチレンアルキルアミン、グリセリン脂肪酸エステル、オキシエチレン−オキシプロピレンブロックポリマー等が挙げられる。
ウレタン系樹脂粒子0.1gとノニオン系界面活性剤(花王社製:レオドールTW−L120)0.3%水溶液10mlを試験管に投入する。これをタッチミキサー(ヤマト科学社製:TOUCHMIXER MT−31)及び超音波洗浄器(ULTRASONIC CLEANER VS−150)を用いて予備分散させる。これを本体備え付けのISOTONII(ベックマンコールター社製:測定用電解液)を満たしたビーカー中に、緩く撹拌しながらスポイドで滴下して、本体画面の濃度計の示度を10%前後に合わせる。次に、コールターマルチサイザーIII(ベックマンコールター社製:測定装置)本体にアパチャーをセットし、Current、Gain、Polarityをアパチャーサイズに合わせた所定の条件で測定を行う。測定中は気泡が入らない程度にビーカー内を緩く撹拌しておき、樹脂粒子を10万個測定した点で測定を終了する。体積加重の平均径(体積%モードの算術平均径:体積メヂアン径)を樹脂粒子の平均粒子径として算出する。使用するアパチャーの細孔径サイズは、100μmのものを用いる。
エポキシ樹脂にウレタン系樹脂粒子を埋設した後、エポキシ樹脂を硬化させて、粒子含有エポキシ樹脂片を作製する。この粒子含有エポキシ樹脂片に四酸化ルテニウム染色を施したうえで、超薄切片を作製して透過型電子顕微鏡(日立製作所社製:H−7600)にて断面を観察し、相分離構造の有無及びその形状について観察する。
分散相の平均最長径(r)は、透過型電子顕微鏡(日立製作所社製:H−7600)を用い、倍率500〜10000倍で任意のウレタン系樹脂粒子の断面を観察し、分散相の最長径を20個測定して、これらを平均した値を算出する。
微小圧縮試験機(島津製作所社製:MCTM200)により、粒子が10%変位した時点における圧縮強度を測定する。測定手順及び測定条件は、以下のとおりとする。
先ず、樹脂粒子をエタノール中に分散させた後、鏡面仕上げした鋼製試料台に塗布乾燥させ、測定用試料を調整する。
次に、室温20℃、相対湿度65%の環境下、MCTM200に付属の光学顕微鏡により、独立した1個の粒子を選び出す。この時、選び出す粒子の条件は、MCTM200の粒子測定用カーソルで、粒子径が9〜11μmの範囲内のものであり、この範囲外の粒子は測定には用いないこととする。
次に、選び出した粒子の頂点に試験用圧子を以下の負荷速度で降下させ、徐々に加重をかけて、最大で荷重1gまで加えることで、先に測定した粒子径から10%変位した時点の荷重から圧縮強度(強度)を求める。実施例および比較例に際して、各々6回の測定を行い、最大値及び最小値の2つのデータを除いた、残り4つの測定データの平均値を、各実施例及び比較例のS10強度とする。

20mlバイヤル管中に、ウレタン系樹脂0.1gと125ppmジエチルベンゼン入りジメチルホルムアミド溶液1mlを加え、24時間放置した。その後、バイヤル管をヘッドスペースサンプラ(HTA社製:HT200H)に設置し、90℃で加熱を1時間行った。バイヤル管中の空気層2mlをガスクロマトグラフ(島津製作所社製:GC−18A)に注入し、含まれる非反応性有機溶媒(トルエン等)を定量する。
測定装置:ヘッドスペースサンプラ付ガスクロマトグラフ(HTA社製:ヘッドスペースオートサンプラHT200H、島津製作所社製:ガスクロマトグラフGC−18A)
使用カラム:ZB−WAX(0.25μm×0.25mmΦ×30m)(phenomenex社製)
検出器:PID
測定条件:カラム温度(60℃で3分間、20℃/分で100℃まで昇温、40℃/分で220℃まで昇温、220℃で30秒間)、注入口温度(150℃)、検出器温度(250℃)、カラム流量(1.6ml/min(ヘリウムガスを使用))
(a−1)粒子の製造
アクリル酸ブチル(活性水素非含有(メタ)アクリレート単量体)180重量部に2−ヒドロキシプロピルメタクリレート(活性水素(メタ)アクリレート単量体)を20重量部、多官能ラジカル重合性単量体としてエチレングリコールジメタクリレートを1重量部、3官能のイソシアヌレート型多官能イソシアネート(旭化成社製 デュラネートTM TPA−100)を200重量部、開始剤としてアゾビスバレロニトリルを2重量部、ウレタン硬化触媒として有機チタン化合物(マツモトファインケミカル社製:TC−700)を0.05重量部添加して重合性組成物とした。
水相としてイオン交換水1000重量部、懸濁安定剤としてピロリン酸マグネシウム35重量部添加した。
この水相中に重合性組成物を入れてホモジナイザーにて7000rpmで10分間攪拌を行った。その後、窒素雰囲気下55℃で3時間、その後、100℃に昇温して2時間、反応を行った。その後、塩酸を加え、ピロリン酸マグネシウムを溶解させ、固液分離、洗浄、乾燥することにより目的の粒子が得られた。
得られた粒子の粒子径は10μmであった。走査型電子顕微鏡で粒子を観察した結果、粒子の形状は表面に凹凸のない球状であった。粒子の長径と短径の比は1.0であった。粒子内には相分離構造が確認され、マトリックス相(連続相)中に分散相が球状に存在していた。分散相の最長径を測定したところ0.2μmであった。粒子のS10強度は0.36kgf/mm2であった。粒子の非反応性有機溶媒の残留濃度を測定したところ1ppm以下であった。
(a−2)粒子の製造
アクリル酸ブチルを100重量部、2−ヒドロシキシプロピルメタクリレートを100重量部、エチレングリコールジメタクリレートを3重量部、3官能のイソシアヌレート型多官能イソシアネート(旭化成社製 デュラネートTM TPA−100)を200重量部使用したこと以外は実施例1と同様の方法で粒子を得た。
(b−2)粒子の評価
得られた粒子の粒子径は11μmであった。走査型電子顕微鏡で粒子を観察した結果、粒子の形状は表面に凹凸のない球状であった。粒子の長径と短径の比は1.0であった。粒子内には相分離構造が確認され、マトリックス相(連続相)中に分散相が球状に存在していた。分散相の最長径を測定したところ0.3μmであった。粒子のS10強度は0.53kgf/mm2であった。粒子の非反応性有機溶媒の残留濃度を測定したところ1ppm以下であった。
(a−3)粒子の製造
アクリル酸ブチルを50重量部、2−ヒドロシキシプロピルメタクリレートを50重量部、エチレングリコールジメタクリレートを10重量部、3官能のイソシアヌレート型多官能イソシアネート(旭化成社製 デュラネートTM TPA−100)を200重量部使用したこと以外は実施例1と同様の方法で粒子を得た。
(b−3)粒子の評価
得られた粒子の粒子径は13μmであった。走査型電子顕微鏡で粒子を観察した結果、粒子の形状は表面に凹凸を有する異形状であった。粒子の長径と短径の比は1.0であった。粒子内には相分離構造が確認され、マトリックス相(連続相)中に分散相が球状に存在していた。分散相の最長径を測定したところ0.5μmであった。粒子のS10強度は0.32kgf/mm2であった。粒子の非反応性有機溶媒の残留濃度を測定したところ1ppm以下であった。
実施例1〜2及び比較例1の結果について、表1にまとめて示す。

Claims (7)
- 活性水素(メタ)アクリレート単量体を含むビニル単量体100重量部に対して、多官能ラジカル重合性単量体0.05重量部以上2.0重量部未満及び多官能イソシアネート10〜400重量部の割合で含む混合物由来の重合体成分を含み、非反応性有機溶媒を実質的に含まないことを特徴とする球状ウレタン系樹脂粒子。
- 前記球状ウレタン系樹脂粒子が、マトリックス相と前記マトリックス相中に存在する分散相とからなる相分離構造を有している請求項1に記載の球状ウレタン系樹脂粒子。
- 前記活性水素(メタ)アクリレート単量体が、分子内に1個以上のヒドロキシル基を有する請求項1又は2に記載の球状ウレタン系樹脂粒子。
- 前記多官能ラジカル重合性単量体が、(メタ)アクリル酸エステル系単量体及び/又は芳香族系単量体からなる請求項1〜3のいずれか1つに記載の球状ウレタン系樹脂粒子。
- 前記多官能イソシアネートが、分子内に3個以上のイソシアネート基を有する、ビュレット型、イソシアヌレート型又はアダクト型のイソシアネートである請求項1〜4のいずれか1つに記載の球状ウレタン系樹脂粒子。
- 活性水素(メタ)アクレート単量体を含むビニル単量体100重量部に対して、多官能ラジカル重合性単量体0.05重量部以上2.0重量部未満、多官能イソシアネート10〜400重量部の割合で含む混合物、ラジカル重合開始剤及びウレタン硬化触媒とを含む重合性組成物を、懸濁安定剤の存在下かつ非反応性有機溶媒の不存在下、水性媒体中で重合を行うことで球状ウレタン系樹脂粒子を得ることを特徴とする球状ウレタン系樹脂粒子の製造方法。
- 前記懸濁安定剤が、難水溶性無機塩である請求項6に記載の球状ウレタン系樹脂粒子の製造方法。
