Abstract
【解決手段】

本出願は、その全体が参照によって本明細書に組み込まれる2007年8月23日出願の「System for Transmitting Electrical Current to a Bodily Tissue」という名称の米国特許仮出願第60/957,592号の優先権を主張するものである。
Claims (38)
- 装置であって、
第1の表面、及び前記第1の表面とは別の第2の表面を有する基板と、
前記基板にそれぞれ結合された正端子及び負端子を有し、当該装置に結合された外部刺激器に電力を供給するように構成された電源と、
前記基板の前記第1の表面の近くに配置され、前記電源の前記正端子及び前記負端子のうちの少なくとも一方に電気的に結合され、前記外部刺激器を前記電源に電気的に結合するように構成されたコネクタと、
前記基板に結合され、前記コネクタを、前記電源の前記正端子及び前記負端子のうちの少なくとも一方に電気的に結合するように構成された電気回路であり、前記コネクタ又は前記電気回路の少なくとも一方が、前記電気回路の短絡を防ぐように構成された電気回路と、
前記基板の前記第2の表面に結合された電極アセンブリであり、前記電極アセンブリの少なくとも1つの電極が、体組織と接触し、前記体組織を通した電流の伝送を容易にするように構成された電極アセンブリと、
を備える装置。 - 前記電気回路が、しきい電気負荷の存在下で前記電気回路を開くように構成されたヒューズを含み、前記電気回路が開いているときに、前記電源が前記外部刺激器に電力を供給することが実質的に阻止される、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記電気回路が、開構成及び閉構成を有するスイッチを含み、前記開構成では、前記スイッチが前記電気回路を開くように構成され、前記閉構成では、前記スイッチが電気回路を閉じるように構成され、前記スイッチが前記開構成に対してバイアスされた、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記電気回路が、第1の方向に電流が流れるようにし、前記第1の方向とは別の第2の方向に前記電流が流れることを実質的に阻止するように構成されたダイオードを含む、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記コネクタが、前記外部刺激器と無線通信するように構成されたアンテナである、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記コネクタが、前記電源の前記正端子に電気的に結合された第1のコネクタであり、前記装置がさらに、
前記基板の前記第1の表面に配置され、前記電源の前記負端子に電気的に結合された第2のコネクタと、
前記基板の一部分が濡れているときに、前記第1のコネクタ及び前記第2のコネクタの間の電流のインピーダンスを増大させるように構成された疎水性バリヤと、
を備える、請求項1に記載の装置。 - 前記電極アセンブリの前記少なくとも1つの電極が第1の電極であり、前記電極アセンブリが、前記第1の電極とは別の第2の電極を含み、前記第2の電極が、前記電流の少なくとも一部分を受け取るように構成された、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記電極アセンブリの前記少なくとも1つの電極が、前記外部刺激器から、前記体組織に少なくとも部分的に埋め込まれた導線への前記電流の伝送を容易にするように構成された、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記電源が、導電性タブによって前記基板に結合され、前記導電性タブが、はんだ、ろう、溶接及び接着剤のうちの少なくとも1つによって前記基板に結合された、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記基板が第1の層及び第2の層を含み、前記電源、コネクタ及び電気回路のうちの少なくとも1つが、前記第1の層に少なくとも部分的に埋め込まれており、前記基板の前記第2の層が、前記電極アセンブリの一部分の上に形成された、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記基板が第1の層及び第2の層を含み、前記第1の層が第1の材料から形成され、前記第2の層が、前記第1の材料とは別の第2の材料から形成され、前記第2の材料が非導電性である、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記基板に結合された磁石をさらに備え、前記磁石が、外部刺激器内のスイッチを、前記スイッチが第1の出力チャネルに電気的に結合された第1の位置から、前記スイッチが前記第1の出力チャネルとは別の第2の出力チャネルに電気的に結合された第2の位置へ移動させるように構成された、
請求項1に記載の装置。 - 前記電極アセンブリの少なくとも1つの電極が、前記外部刺激器から前記体組織を通した電流の伝送を容易にするように構成された、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 第1の表面及び前記第1の表面とは別の第2の表面を有する基板と、
第1の電極及び前記第1の電極とは別の第2の電極を含み、前記基板の前記第2の表面に結合され、外部刺激器から体組織を通した電流の伝送を容易にするように構成された電極アセンブリと、
前記基板に結合され、前記外部刺激器に電力を供給するように構成された電源と、
前記基板の前記第1の表面に結合された最大2つの機械式コネクタを含む接続アセンブリであって、前記最大2つのコネクタが前記外部刺激器に電気的に結合された第1の構成、及び前記最大2つのコネクタが前記外部刺激器から電気的に分離された第2の構成を有する接続アセンブリであって、前記第1の構成にあるときに、前記電源及び前記外部刺激器の間の電力回路、及び前記外部刺激器及び前記電極アセンブリの間の刺激回路を形成するように構成された接続アセンブリと、
を備える装置。 - 前記電源が正端子及び負端子を有し、前記接続アセンブリのコネクタが、前記外部刺激器を、前記電源の前記正端子及び前記第1の電極に電気的に結合するように構成された、請求項14に記載の装置。
- 前記電源が正端子及び負端子を有し、前記接続アセンブリのコネクタが、前記外部刺激器を、前記電源の前記負端子及び前記第2の電極に電気的に結合するように構成された、請求項14に記載の装置。
- 前記第1の電極と前記第2の電極の間を前記電流が第1の方向に流れるように構成されたダイオードをさらに備え、前記ダイオードが、前記第1の電極と前記第2の電極の間を前記電流が、前記第1の方向とは反対の第2の方向に流れることを実質的に阻止するように構成された、請求項14に記載の装置。
- 交流電流を直流電流から分離するように構成されたコンデンサをさらに備え、前記コンデンサが、前記電源から前記第1の電極に前記直流電流が流れることを実質的に阻止するように構成された、請求項14に記載の装置。
- 交流電流を直流電流から分離するように構成されたコンデンサをさらに備え、前記コンデンサが、前記交流電流及び前記直流電流のうちの少なくとも一方を前記外部刺激器から前記第1の電極に送達するように構成された、請求項14に記載の装置。
