Abstract
Description
Claims (41)
- 補強混合物を骨に配送する装置であって、
近位端、遠位端、およびその間の長手方向軸を有し、骨補強混合物を通過させることのできる少なくとも1つの内腔を含むチューブと、
前記チューブに係合し、前記補強混合物がバルーンに入ると、略収縮状態から略膨張状態に拡張するバルーンと、
光をバルーン内に誘導するために前記チューブを通って前記バルーン内に延在する少なくとも1つの光導体と、
を備えることを特徴とする装置。 - 前記チューブに光を提供する光源をさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項1の装置。
- 前記光源が紫外線光をチューブに提供することを特徴とする請求項2の装置。
- 前記光源が可視光をチューブに提供することを特徴とする請求項2の装置。
- 前記光をチューブ内に誘導するために前記チューブの近位端に隣接する光学テーパをさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項1の装置。
- 前記チューブをバルーンから分離するために前記チューブの遠位端に分離領域をさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項1の装置。
- 前記バルーンの遠位端に放射線不透過性マーカをさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項1の装置。
- 前記バルーンを囲む外側バルーンをさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項1の装置。
- 前記骨補強混合物の少なくとも1部が硬化前にバルーンから除去されることを特徴とする請求項1の装置。
- 前記骨補強混合物が加圧下でバルーンに入るとバルーンが膨張することを特徴とする請求項1の装置。
- 前記バルーンの表面が略滑らかであることを特徴とする請求項1の装置。
- 前記バルーンの表面が骨の空洞内に含まれるように予め形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1の装置。
- 前記バルーンが骨の空洞の壁にほぼ一致するように成形されていることを特徴とする請求項1の装置。
- 補強混合物を骨に配送する装置であって、
近位端、遠位端、およびその間の長手方向軸を有し、骨補強混合物を通過させることのできる少なくとも1つの内腔を含むカテーテルと、
前記カテーテルから延在し、前記補強混合物がバルーンに入ると、略収縮状態から略膨張状態に拡張し始めるバルーンと、
前記カテーテルと前記バルーンを接続し、接合部で前記カテーテルに負荷される応力を集中させる接合部と、
を備えることを特徴とする装置。 - 前記接合部が、前記カテーテル内に切欠き、溝、およびチャンネルのうち少なくとも1つを含むことを特徴とする請求項14の装置。
- 前記接合部が、前記カテーテルのほぼ外周に延びる予め弱化された領域を含むことを特徴とする請求項14の装置。
- 前記接合部が、少なくとも所定の荷重下で前記バルーンを前記カテーテルから分離するように設計されることを特徴とする請求項14の装置。
- 前記接合部がカテーテルの長手方向軸に沿って1インチ未満延在することを特徴とする請求項14の装置。
- 前記カテーテルに光を提供する光源をさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項14の装置。
- 前記光源が紫外線光を提供することを特徴とする請求項19の装置。
- 前記光源からの光をバルーン内に伝達するカテーテルの少なくとも1つの内腔をさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項19の装置。
- 前記接合部に配置される照明バンドをさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項14の装置。
- 骨の空洞へのアクセスを得るために骨を貫通するステップと、
バルーンカテーテルを骨の空洞に挿入するステップと、
カテーテルの少なくとも1つの内腔を通って補強混合物を前記バルーンカテーテルのバルーンに注入するステップと、
光源を活動させてバルーン内の前記補強混合物を硬化するステップと、
を備えることを特徴とする骨の補強方法。 - 骨の空洞内全体に前記バルーンを保持するステップをさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項23の方法。
- 前記カテーテルをバルーンから分離するステップをさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項23の方法。
- 骨の空洞に前記バルーンを残すステップをさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項23の方法。
- 前記光源が紫外線光を提供することを特徴とする請求項23の方法。
- 前記補強混合物で前記バルーンを膨張させるステップをさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項23の方法。
- 硬化前に前記補強混合物の少なくとも1部を除去することによって前記バルーンを収縮させるステップをさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項23の方法。
- 前記バルーンの第1の部分を折れた骨の第1の側面に配置し、前記バルーンの第2の部分を前記折れた骨の第2の側面に配置して、前記バルーンを配置するステップをさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項23の方法。
- 前記カテーテルの少なくとも1つの第2の内腔を通って前記光源からの光をバルーン内に伝達するステップをさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項23の方法。
- 前記カテーテルの少なくとも1つの内腔と前記カテーテルの少なくとも1つの第2の内腔とは、異なるカテーテルの内腔であることを特徴とする請求項31の方法。
- 前記カテーテルの少なくとも1つの内腔を通って前記補強混合物の第2の部分を前記バルーンカテーテルに注入し、前記光源を活動させて前記バルーン内の前記補強混合物の第2の部分を硬化するステップをさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項23の方法。
- 骨の空洞へのアクセスを得るために骨を貫通するステップと、
バルーンカテーテルを骨の空洞に挿入するステップと、
バルーンに接続されるカテーテルの少なくとも1つの内腔を通って骨補強混合物を前記バルーンに導入するステップと、
所定の位置で前記カテーテルをバルーンから分離するステップと、
を備えることを特徴とする骨の補強方法。 - 骨の空洞にバルーンを挿入する前に前記所定の位置を形成するステップをさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項34の方法。
- 前記所定の位置が、前記カテーテル内に切欠き、溝、およびチャンネルのうち少なくとも1つを作製することによって形成されることを特徴とする請求項35の方法。
- 前記所定の位置が前記カテーテルの弱化領域によって形成されることを特徴とする請求項35の方法。
- 前記所定の位置でカテーテルをバルーンから分離するために前記カテーテルをねじるステップをさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項34の方法。
- 前記バルーン内で前記骨補強混合物を硬化させるステップをさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項34の方法。
- 前記カテーテルの少なくとも1つの第2の内腔を通じて前記光源からの光を前記バルーンに伝達するステップをさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項39の方法。
- 光が、前記骨補強混合物が導入されるカテーテルの少なくとも1つの内腔とは異なるカテーテルの内腔を通じて前記バルーンに伝達されることを特徴とする請求項40の方法。
