Abstract
【解決手段】垂直磁気記録媒体は、ディスク基体1上に、軟磁性層14と、磁気記録層22と、基体の面内方向に磁気的に連続した連続層24と、連続層に与える衝撃を遮断する遮断層26と、遮断層の上に成膜され、カーボンを含む媒体保護層28と、を備える。

Description
本発明にかかる垂直磁気記録媒体の実施例について説明する。図1は本実施例に係る垂直磁気記録媒体の構成を説明する図、図2はバイアス電圧と保磁力Hcの関係を示す図、図3は膜厚と保磁力Hcの関係を示す図である。なお、以下の実施例に示す寸法、材料、その他具体的な数値などは、発明の理解を容易とするための例示に過ぎず、特に断る場合を除き、本発明を限定するものではない。

Claims (10)
- 基体上に、
軟磁性層と、
磁気記録層と、
前記基体の面内方向に磁気的に連続した連続層と、
前記連続層に与える衝撃を遮断する遮断層と、
前記遮断層の上に成膜され、カーボンを含む媒体保護層と、
を備えることを特徴とする垂直磁気記録媒体。 - 前記媒体保護層は、CVD(Chemical Vapour Deposition)法もしくはスパッタリング法を用いて成膜されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の垂直磁気記録媒体。
- 前記媒体保護層を成膜する際に、前記基体にバイアス電圧を印加することを特徴とする請求項2に記載の垂直磁気記録媒体。
- 前記遮断層は、非磁性体で構成されることを特徴とする請求項1から3のいずれか1項に記載の垂直磁気記録媒体。
- 前記遮断層は、アモルファスであることを特徴とする請求項1から4のいずれか1項に記載の垂直磁気記録媒体。
- 前記遮断層は、前記連続層に含まれる元素で構成されることを特徴とする請求項1から5のいずれか1項に記載の垂直磁気記録媒体。
- 前記遮断層は、CrまたはCr合金で構成されることを特徴とする請求項1から6のいずれか1項に記載の垂直磁気記録媒体。
- 前記媒体保護層は、ダイヤモンドライクカーボンを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の垂直磁気記録媒体。
- 前記連続層は、CoCr合金を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の垂直磁気記録媒体。
- 基体上に、軟磁性層と、磁気記録層と、前記基体の面内方向に磁気的に連続した連続層と、カーボンを含む媒体保護層とをこの順に備える垂直磁気記録媒体の製造方法であって、
前記連続層の上に該連続層が受ける衝撃を遮断する遮断層を成膜する工程と、
前記遮断層の上に前記媒体保護層を成膜する工程と、
を含むことを特徴とする垂直磁気記録媒体の製造方法。
