本発明は、脂肪族BMIモノマーをBMI基本樹脂系に導入して、硬化後のTgを低下させず且つ未硬化のTg及び粘度を低下させつつ、熱老化後の減少重量損失で測定されるような硬化複合物構造体の耐ミクロクラック形成を改善する処方物を含む。この低下した未硬化のTgは、手動または自動加工法による複雑な形のプレプレグへの加工を助成する。
図1及び2はBMI樹脂及び標準的エポキシ樹脂を用いて作った複合物の機械的性質を例示する。多くの複合物は用いた樹脂とは無関係に同様の繊維に支配された性質を示すけれど、マトリックス樹脂は供用温度及び耐損傷性で異なる。図1及び2は、実施例8で例示するような広く使用されているBMI、すなわちサイコム5250−4から作った複合物及びエポキシ樹脂から作った複合物の機械的性質を比較する。

図6からは、従来法のエポキシ樹脂が良好な耐熱老化性を与えるが、Tgは必要値よりも低いことが分かる。脂肪族HMDA−BMIを有さないBMIは高いTgを与えるが、貧弱な耐熱老化性を示した。本発明のBMI樹脂は驚くべきことに、より高いTgを与え、一方で依然として良好な耐熱老化性を提供した。
以下の実施例において、TgはTAインスツルメンツ(Instruments)社製DMA2980型ダイナミック・メカニカル分析機により5℃/分及び1Hzで測定した貯蔵モジュラスの勾配変化で測った。
Claims (20)
- 液相及び固相を含んでなる基本樹脂系;基本樹脂系の約2−約20重量%を形成する液相の脂肪族BMI;芳香族BMIを含んでなる、但し芳香族BMIは約1−約45%がスラリー混合温度において固相で存在し且つ基本樹脂処方物の約50−90重量%を形成する、熱硬化性ビスマレイミド樹脂系。
- 脂肪族BMIが実質的にモノマーである、請求項1の熱硬化性ビスマレイミド樹脂系。
- 熱可塑性物を更に含んでなる、請求項1の熱硬化性ビスマレイミド樹脂系。
- 脂肪族BMIがHMDA−BMIである、請求項1の熱硬化性ビスマレイミド樹脂系。
- 禁止剤を更に含んでなる、請求項1の熱硬化性ビスマレイミド樹脂系。
- スラリー混合温度が140−180°Fである、請求項1の熱硬化性ビスマレイミド樹脂系。
- 固相芳香族BMIの約90−約100重量%が20μmまたはそれ以下の粒径を有する、請求項1の熱硬化性ビスマレイミド樹脂系。
- 混合温度において液相だけを含んでなる基本樹脂系;実質的にモノマーである液相の脂肪族BMI、を含んでなる、熱硬化性ビスマレイミド樹脂系。
- 熱可塑性物約1−約10重量%を更に含んでなる、請求項11の熱硬化性ビスマレイミド樹脂系。
- 芳香族BMIを更に含んでなる、請求項12の熱硬化性ビスマレイミド樹脂系。
- 脂肪族BMI約2−20重量%;
オレフィン性共反応物約15−60重量%;
芳香族BMI約20−80重量%;
を含んでなる、但し樹脂が約350−約600°Fにおける老化に対して改良された安定性を示す、熱硬化性樹脂。 - 熱老化後の重量損失が2.8%未満である、請求項11の熱硬化性樹脂。
- 触媒を更に含んでなる、請求項11の熱硬化性樹脂。
- 禁止剤を更に含んでなる、請求項11の熱硬化性樹脂。
- 流動調整剤を更に含んでなる、請求項11の熱硬化性樹脂。
- 熱可塑性物約0.5−約20重量%を更に含んでなる、請求項11による熱硬化性樹脂。
- 全樹脂改変剤が約30重量%またはそれ以下である、請求項11による熱硬化性樹脂。
- タックが、芳香族BMIだけを含んでなる同等のBMI樹脂処方物よりも増大している、請求項11による熱硬化性樹脂。
- オレフィン性共反応物が2,2’−ジアリルビスフェノールAまたはアルケニルフェノキシベンゾフォンである、請求項11の熱硬化性樹脂。
- 全BMI約70−約85重量%;
オレフィン性共反応物約15−約30重量%
を含んでなる、但し樹脂のTgが約500−750°Fである、熱硬化性樹脂系。
