近年、バン型車のRV車としての用途拡大に伴い、ドアガラス昇降を自動化する等のために、スライドドアに設けたドアガラス昇降モータやリミットスイッチ等へ車両ボデー側から給電する必要が生じている。そこで、湾曲変形するフレキシブルフラットケーブル(以下単に「フラットケーブル」という)をボデー側とドア側とに接続する方法が考えられた(特許文献1参照)。しかしながら、このフラットケーブルをボデー側に設ける必要があるため、フラットケーブルの収納スペースをボデーパネルに確保し、あるいはフラットケーブルを泥水等から遮蔽するためのカバーをボデーパネルに設ける必要がある等によりパネル構造が複雑化し大幅なコストアップになるという問題が生じた。そこで、ボデーパネルの形状が複雑化することによる大幅なコストアップを生じることのない車両用スライドドアの給電装置として、スライドドアに設けられてドア開閉方向へ延びるガイド部材と、当該ガイド部材に相対移動可能に保持されたスライダと、車両ボデー側から延びて前記スライダを経由して前記スライドドア内の電気部品に至る給電線と、前記スライダに一端が、前記車両ボデーに他端がそれぞれ結合されて前記給電線を支持する、弾性的に湾曲変形可能な第1の支持部材とを具備し、スライドドアの開閉に伴う第1の支持部材の車両ボデー側固定点とスライダ側固定点との相対間隔の変化を、前記第1の支持部材の湾曲変形により吸収するようにしたものが開発された(特許文献2参照)。
