レーザ光は最初にn番目のスタック部を通って入射する。上記IP1Iスタック部は一番目のスタック部であり、Snは透明スペーサ層であり、IPnITnはn番目の記録スタック部であり、式中I、P及びTは既に述べた意味を有している。マルチスタックのデザインの順序(order)の多くの表記が可能であることが述べられるべきである。マルチスタックのデザインは、Ln(nは0又は正の整数を表す。)により表されることもある。レーザ光が入射する第1のスタック部はL0と呼ばれ、より奥に存在する各スタック部はL1・・・Lnにより表される。上記「より奥に存在する」とは、入射レーザ光ビームの方向の観点から理解されたい。本明細書では、最も奥に存在するスタック部が添え字の1により示される他の表記法を用いる。

このような態様では、記録層の両方のサイドにヒートシンク層を有して対称形のスタック部が形成され得る。これは、冷却の挙動がより対称的に分散され、記録層における非晶質のマークのより最適な書き込み及び消去をもたらすという利点を有している。特に、1.2≦x≦1.3である化合物HfNxが好ましい。この範囲内では、ヒートシンク層の材料の低い吸収(すなわち、屈折率の虚数部が0.2以下である)が堆積後のヒートシンク層の低い機械的な応力量と組み合わせられる。本発明によるヒートシンク層の応力量は1.3よりも大きいxの値において増大する傾向があることが見出された。xの値が1.6よりも大きいと、層の応力量が容認できないほど高くなり、ヒートシンク層の割れ及び基板の反りが生じる可能性がある。
相変化型記録層12を有する第2の記録スタック部3と、記録スタック部2と記録スタック部3との間の、集束レーザ光ビーム30の焦点深度よりも大きい30μmの厚さを有する透明スペーサ層9とが堆積されたポリカーボネート(PC)よりなる基板1を有している。
Claims (10)
- 集束レーザ光ビームによる書き換え可能な記録のためのマルチスタック光データ記憶媒体であり、サイドに、
相変化型記録層を有し、前記集束レーザ光ビームに対して最も遠くに存在する第1の記録スタック部と、
相変化型記録層を有する少なくとも1つの他の記録スタック部と、
前記記録スタック部間の、前記集束レーザ光ビームの焦点深度よりも大きな厚さを有する透明スペーサ層と
が堆積された基板を有するマルチスタック光データ記憶媒体であって、
前記記録スタック部の少なくとも1つに、式HfNx(式中、xはHf原子当たりのN原子の数であり、1.1≦x≦1.6)により表される化合物を有する少なくとも1つのヒートシンク層が存在することを特徴とするマルチスタック光データ記憶媒体。 - 前記ヒートシンク層は、前記他の記録スタック部の前記記録層の、前記透明スペーサ層近傍の前記第1の記録スタック部に最も近いサイドにおいて、前記他の記録スタック部の少なくとも1つに存在する請求項1記載の光データ記憶媒体。
- 前記ヒートシンク層を含んでいる前記他の記録スタック部に、式HfNx(式中、xはHf原子当たりのN原子の数であり、1.1≦x≦1.6)により表される化合物を有する他のヒートシンク層が存在し、この他のヒートシンク層は、前記他の記録スタック部の前記記録層の、前記ヒートシンク層の前記サイドとは反対のサイドに存在する請求項1又は2記載の光データ記憶媒体。
- 1.2≦x≦1.3である請求項1ないし3のいずれか1項に記載の光データ記憶媒体。
- 前記第1の記録スタック部の前記記録層の、前記他の記録スタック部に最も近いサイドにおいて、前記第1の記録スタック部に、他のヒートシンク層が存在するとともに、ヒートシンク層が、前記第1の記録スタック部の前記記録層の、前記他の記録スタック部から最も遠いサイドにおいて、前記第1の記録スタック部に存在する請求項3又は4記載の光データ記憶媒体。
- 前記第1の記録スタック部の前記記録層の、前記他の記録スタック部から最も遠いサイドにおいて、前記第1の記録スタック部に金属反射層が存在する請求項1ないし5のいずれか1項に記載の光データ記憶媒体。
- 前記ヒートシンク層及び前記他のヒートシンク層はそれぞれ5ないし200nmの範囲から選択された値の厚さを有する請求項1ないし6のいずれか1項に記載の光データ記憶媒体。
- 前記記録層が、それぞれの非化学量論組成を含むAl2O3、SiC、Si3N4、MgO、ZnO及びAlNよりなる群から選択された化合物を有する少なくとも1つの追加の層と接しており、前記追加の層は最大10nmの厚さを有する請求項1ないし7のいずれか1項に記載の光データ記憶媒体。
- 前記記録層がGe元素及びTe元素を有する請求項8記載の光データ記憶媒体。
- マルチスタック及び高データレートの記録のための請求項1ないし9のいずれか1項に従った光データ記憶媒体の使用。
