上記公知例は、乗客コンベアが設置された外側部における安全対策であり、最近設置例が多くなっている隣設型乗客コンベアの隣接部の安全対策の例はなかった。ここで、上昇および下降する隣設乗客コンベアの場合、ハンドレールは合計4本存在するが、外側部の2本を対象に上記公知例が必要となるもので、隣接部の中央2本の所ではすれ違う乗客同士の接触事故が知られている。すなわち、上昇移動、あるいは下降移動する乗客が、ハンドレールから隣接するハンドレール側に腕や手荷物を張りだした場合にすれ違う乗客に危害を及ぼすという人身(接触)事故が少なからず発生しており、それに対する有効な安全装置が必要となっている。

上記目的を達成するために本発明は、無端状に連結されて一方の乗降床と他方の乗降床間を移動するステップと、このステップ両側部に直立配置される欄干と、この欄干を形成する欄干パネル、案内フレームおよびハンドレールなどを備えて隣設された乗客コンベアにおいて、その隣接部の前記案内フレーム同士に固設される底辺部と、この底辺部に固設されてその隣接部のハンドレール同士の中央部に直立する垂辺部とで形成される安全装置を前記ステップの移動方向に沿って配置したのである。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、本発明を適用してなる乗客コンベアの安全装置の一実施形態を図1と図2に基づいて説明する。図1は、隣設型の乗客コンベア1および2の側面図であり同図には手前側の乗客コンベア1のみを図示しているが、同図のA−A線に沿う断面図である図2には例えば矢印B方向に上昇運転される乗客コンベア1と矢印C方向に下降運転される乗客コンベア2を密着させて隣接した状態を示してある。乗客コンベア1と2には同一機能を有する乗客輸送用のステップ1A,2A、これらステップ1A,2Aの両側にはハンドレール1B,2Bという移動体、それに欄干パネル1C,2C、案内フレーム1D,2Dなどの固定体である欄干1E,2Eなどが配置されて、これら構造体が下階床3から上階床4にかけて隣接設置されている。
