国際公開第９２／１１８４３号パンフレットは、形成された本体と解放される薬品を含む装置であって、延長された期間に渡って薬品を解放する装置に関する。この形成された本体は、乳酸及びグリコール酸のコポリマーのような生腐食性ポリマーとコレステロールのような疎水性物質とを含む。この薬品はポリペプチドを含む群から選択される。
米国特許第５，４４５，８３２号明細書には、３から４５のアミノ酸を含む薬物性ペプチドと合体した、乳酸及びグリコール酸のコポリマーのような生劣化性物質の極小球形態の、持続放出用組成物の製造方法が開示されている。
