くガラス繊維やカーボンファイバー等の充填材を配合し
た熱可塑性樹脂であっても、溶着に際して溶融樹脂が周
囲に食み出すことがなく、もって均一な接合状態を実現
することが可能な樹脂部品の溶着接合方法を提供する。 【解決手段】 熱可塑性樹脂よりなる樹脂部品1をホー
ン8を用いて超音波溶着により相手部品に溶着接合する
方法であって、ホーン8の先端部9にその中心部から径
方向外方にかけて断面円弧状の凹部10を形成し、樹脂
部品1に設けた凸部2をこのホーン8を用いて溶融す
る。

【発明の詳細な説明】
【0001】
【発明の属する技術分野】本発明は、樹脂部品を超音波
溶着により相手部品に溶着接合するための樹脂部品の溶
着接合方法に関し、更に、これに用いられる溶着ホーン
に関するものである。

【従来の技術】例えば、図3に示す樹脂部品51を相手
部品52に固定する場合、樹脂部品51に設けた凸部5
3を相手部品52に設けた孔部54に差し込み、凸部5
3の先端に超音波溶着機器のホーン(溶着ホーン)55
を押し付けて作動させて、凸部53を図4に示すように
溶融させる超音波溶着法が用いられることがある。
【0003】図4は、溶融によって樹脂部品51の凸部
53の形状が変わってゆく様子を同図(A)(B)およ
び(C)の順に経時的に示しており、最終的に同図
(C)のように凸部53が平たく潰れて相手部品52を
挟み込むことにより、樹脂部品51が相手部品52に固
定される。
【0004】このように樹脂部品51を超音波溶着によ
り相手部品52に固定する場合、樹脂部品51の材料樹
脂が充填材無しの熱可塑性樹脂であるときは、ホーン5
5の先端部55aの形状が図3に示したように平面状で
あっても、凸部53が図4に示したように滑らかに形状
変化し、よって均一に近い状態で接合を行なうことが可
能である。
【0005】しかしながら、樹脂部品51の材料樹脂が
その剛性を高めるべくガラス繊維やカーボンファイバー
等の充填材を配合した熱可塑性樹脂であるときには、樹
脂の剛性が高くなり、また充填材の配向等が凸部53の
形状変化に大きく影響するために、均一な状態で接合す
るのが困難であり、溶融樹脂が周囲に食み出して、接合
状態が不均一なものになることがある。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】本発明は以上の点に鑑
みて、樹脂部品の材料樹脂がその剛性を高めるべくガラ
ス繊維やカーボンファイバー等の充填材を配合した熱可
塑性樹脂であっても、溶着に際して溶融樹脂が周囲に食
み出すことがなく、もって均一な接合状態を実現するこ
とが可能な樹脂部品の溶着接合方法と、これに用いる溶
着ホーンとを提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】上記目的を達成するた
め、本発明の請求項1による樹脂部品の溶着接合方法
は、熱可塑性樹脂よりなる樹脂部品をホーンを用いて超
音波溶着により相手部品に溶着接合する方法であって、
前記ホーンの先端部にその中心部から径方向外方にかけ
て断面円弧状の凹部を形成し、前記樹脂部品に設けた凸
部を前記ホーンを用いて溶融することを特徴とするもの
である。
【0008】また、本発明の請求項2による溶着ホーン
は、熱可塑性樹脂よりなる樹脂部品を超音波溶着により
相手部品に溶着接合する際に用いられる溶着ホーンであ
って、その先端部の中心部に凸を備え、その周囲にも輪
状の凸を備えたことを特徴とするものである。
【0009】上記構成を備えた本発明の請求項1による
溶着接合方法のように、ホーンの先端部にその中心部か
ら径方向外方にかけて断面円弧状の凹部が形成される
と、ホーンの先端部の中心部に凸が形成されて、この凸
が溶着当初に謂わばピンポイントで樹脂部品の凸部に接
触する。したがって凸部の溶融がその中心部から開始さ
れて徐々に広がってゆくことになる。また、このように
ホーンの先端部にその中心部から径方向外方にかけて断
面円弧状の凹部が形成されると、ホーンの先端部の周囲
に輪状の凸が形成されて、この輪状の凸が溶融樹脂に対
して比較的早く接触する。したがってこの輪状の凸が謂
わば防ぎとなって、溶融樹脂が周囲に食み出すのを防止
することが可能となる。
【0010】また、上記構成を備えた本発明の請求項2
による溶着ホーンのように、その先端部の中心部に凸が
設けられると、この凸が溶着当初に謂わばピンポイント
で樹脂部品の凸部に接触する。したがって凸部の溶融が
その中心部から開始されて徐々に広がってゆくことにな
る。凸は基本的に尖端状に形成されるが、断面円弧形な
いし半円形の球面状に形成されても良く、またその先端
に若干の平面部を備えていても良い。また、この溶着ホ
ーンによると、先端部の周囲に輪状の凸が設けられるた
めに、この輪状の凸が溶融樹脂に対して比較的早く接触
する。したがってこの輪状の凸が謂わば防ぎとなって、
溶融樹脂が周囲に食み出すのを防止することが可能とな
る。輪状の凸は基本的に断面尖端状に形成されるが、断
面円弧状ないし半円状に形成されても良く、またその先
端に所定の幅を備えた若干の平面部を備えていても良
い。

【発明の実施の形態】つぎに本発明の実施形態を図面に
したがって説明すると、当該実施形態に係る樹脂部品の
溶着接合方法は、図1に示す樹脂部品1を、同図に示す
超音波溶着機器のホーン(溶着ホーン)8を用いて超音
波溶着により、図2に示す相手部品13に溶着接合する
ものである。

イロン等の熱可塑性樹脂によって成形されており、ま
た、その材料樹脂中にその剛性を高めるべくガラス繊維
やカーボンファイバー等の充填材が配合されている。ま
たこの樹脂部品1には、以下のように構成された凸部2
が一体に設けられている。
【0013】すなわち、この凸部2は、円筒状の外周面
4を備えた円盤状の根元部3と、テーパ状の外周面6を
備えた円錐台状の先端部5とを上下に一体に組み合わせ
た形状をなしており、先端部5の先端面7は平面状に形
成されている。また、根元部3の径寸法(φA)より先
端部5の先端面7の径寸法(φB)の方が小さく設定さ
れており(φA>φB)、また根元部3の高さ寸法
(h)は凸部2全体の高さ寸法(C)の三分の一以上の
大きさに設定されている(h>1/3・C)。
【0014】ホーン8は、所定の金属によって成形され
ており、以下のように構成された平面円形の先端部9を
有している。
【0015】すなわち、この先端部9に、その中心部か
ら径方向外方に向けて外周端部に至るまでに断面円弧状
を呈する環状の凹部10が形成されており、これにより
先端部9の中心部に尖端状の凸(突起または凸部とも称
する)11が形成されるとともに、先端部9の外周端部
に尖端状を呈する輪状ないし環状の凸(突起または凸部
とも称する)12が形成されている。
【0016】また、相手部品13には、樹脂部品1の凸
部2を差し込む孔部14が設けられている。
【0017】上記樹脂部品1を上記ホーン8を用いて超
音波溶着により相手部品13に溶着接合するに際して
は、樹脂部品1に設けた凸部2を相手部品13に設けた
孔部14に差し込み、凸部2の先端部にホーン8を押し
付けて作動させて、凸部2を溶融するものであって、当
該溶着接合方法は、上記構成を備えていることにより以
下の作用効果を奏する点に特徴を有している。
【0018】すなわち先ず、ホーン8の先端部9にその
中心部から外周端部にかけて断面円弧状の凹部10が形
成されていて、その先端部9の中心部に尖端状の凸11
が形成されているために、この尖端状の凸11が溶着の
当初にピンポイントで樹脂部品1の凸部2に接触する。
したがって凸部2の溶融がその中心部から開始されて徐
々に広がってゆくことになる。また、ホーン8の先端部
9にその中心部から外周端部にかけて断面円弧状の凹部
10が形成されていて、その先端部9の外周端部に尖端
状を呈する輪状ないし環状の凸12が形成されているた
めに、この尖端状を呈する輪状ないし環状の凸12が溶
融の進行に伴って比較的早く溶融樹脂に対して接触す
る。したがってこの凸12が防ぎとなって、溶融樹脂が
周囲に食み出すのを防止することができ、よってこれら
により、図2に示すように均一な接合状態を実現するこ
とができる。

【発明の効果】本発明は、以下の効果を奏する。
【0020】すなわち先ず、上記構成を備えた本発明の
請求項1による溶着接合方法においては、ホーンの先端
部にその中心部から径方向外方にかけて断面円弧状の凹
部が形成されるために、ホーンの先端部の中心部に凸が
形成されて、この凸が溶着当初にピンポイントで樹脂部
品の凸部に接触する。したがって凸部の溶融がその中心
部から開始されて徐々に広がってゆく。また、このよう
にホーンの先端部にその中心部から径方向外方にかけて
断面円弧状の凹部が形成されると、ホーンの先端部の周
囲に輪状の凸が形成されて、この輪状の凸が溶融樹脂に
対して比較的早く接触する。したがってこの輪状の凸が
防ぎとなって、溶融樹脂が周囲に食み出すのを防止する
ことができる。したがってこれらのことから、均一な接
合状態を実現することができ、接合部の品質を向上させ
ることができる。
【0021】また、上記構成を備えた本発明の請求項2
による溶着ホーンにおいては、その先端部の中心部に凸
が設けられるために、この凸が溶着当初にピンポイント
で樹脂部品の凸部に接触する。したがって凸部の溶融が
その中心部から開始されて徐々に広がってゆく。また、
この溶着ホーンにおいては併せて、先端部の周囲に輪状
の凸が設けられるために、この輪状の凸が溶融樹脂に対
して比較的早く接触する。したがってこの輪状の凸が防
ぎとなって、溶融樹脂が周囲に食み出すのを防止するこ
とができる。したがってこれらのことから、均一な接合
状態を実現することができ、接合部の品質を向上させる
ことができる。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項1】 熱可塑性樹脂よりなる樹脂部品(1)を
    ホーン(8)を用いて超音波溶着により相手部品(1
    3)に溶着接合する方法であって、 前記ホーン(8)の先端部(9)にその中心部から径方
    向外方にかけて断面円弧状の凹部(10)を形成し、前
    記樹脂部品(1)に設けた凸部(2)を前記ホーン
    (8)を用いて溶融することを特徴とする樹脂部品の溶
    着接合方法。
  2. 【請求項2】 熱可塑性樹脂よりなる樹脂部品(1)を
    超音波溶着により相手部品(13)に溶着接合する際に
    用いられる溶着ホーン(8)であって、 その先端部(9)の中心部に凸(11)を備え、その周
    囲にも輪状の凸(12)を備えたことを特徴とする溶着
    ホーン。
