1416107 Aerating liquids VOGELBUSCH GmbH 5 Nov 1973 [15 Nov 1972] 51347/73 Heading B1C Apparatus for handling and aerating a liquid comprises a double-flow, radial- or mixed-flow impeller 18 consisting of two halves 7, 8 which are separated by a chamber 13 which is open at its periphery and serves to supply gas, characterised in that the impeller passages 3 continuously decrease in cross-section in the desired direction of flow and the two halves of the impeller are surrounded by a common stationary guide vane ring 21, which constitutes a compressor. The impeller is designed so that the square of the relative velocity of flow of the fluid handled at the outlet thereof equals or exceeds the sum of the square of the relative velocity of flow of the fluid to be handled at the inlet and the difference between the square of the circumferential velocity of the impeller at the outlet and the square of the circumferential velocity of the impeller at the inlet. A pluralty of impellers 18 may 'be mounted on a common shaft 9, Fig. 5.
