Abstract

A seat is described in which the sitting surface 6 is connected to the support structure of the seat by means of a parallelogram connection 11, 12 so as to be able to move from a lowered position to a raised position, essentially parallel to each other. The back 7 is rigidly connected to a rear connection element 12 which is part of the aforesaid parallelogram connection 11, 12, in such a way as to be able to move from an essentially erect position, which is the case when the sitting surface is lowered, and a backward inclined position, which is the case when the sitting surface is raised. The two connection elements 11, 12 of the parallelogram connection are connected to two auxiliary brackets 9, 10, designed respectively to be connected to the support structure of the seat and to the sitting surface 6, so that the above-described mechanism constitutes a unit which can be preassembled, achieved with an especially simple and reliable structure. <IMAGE>
