Abstract

A folding footrest mechanism that can be inserted into a seat or the like comprises a supporting frame consisting of a seating 1, a footrest 2 hinged to the said seating 1, and a leg 3 to rest on the ground hinged to the said footrest 2. The supporting structure is set in motion by means of two symmetrical sets of side levers each of which includes a plate 4 for fixing it to the base of the seat, a rear lever 5 hinged at the top to the said plate 4, a front lever 6 hinged to the bottom of the plate 4, an L-shaped bracket 7 hinged at the bottom to the said rear 5 and front 6 levers and attached at the top to the seating 1, a bent tube 9 consisting of three straight sections connected together at different angles and hinged at the rear to the rear lever 5 and at the front to the rear of the footrest 2 by means of a bracket 10, and a lever 11 for lowering the leg 3 hinged at the front to this and hinged at the rear to the bent tube 9. <IMAGE>
