In una suola per scarpa, in particolare suola per scarpa sportiva, come parte costituente portante della suola è previsto almeno un elemento composito a base di fibre costituito da una matrice di materia plastica e da fibre in essa inserite, il quale è collegato inseparabilmente con il rimanente corpo della suola mediante saldatura o legame chimico.Mediante una suola così concepita si riesce a ridurre il dispendio di materiale, di lavoro e di spesa nella fabbricazione della suola, senza pregiudizio delle elevate e molteplici esigenze a cui le suole, e in particolare le suole per scarpe sportive, devono soddisfare per quanto riguarda la resistenza, la rigidità e la flessibilità.
