Abstract

1395715 Steeplechase or like hurdles M HICKMAN and W H L STANHOPE 29 Aug 1972 [28 Aug 1971 2 June 1972] 40457/71 and 25816/72 Heading E1B A barrier for use as a steeplechase or other equestrian jump, or a simulated hedgerow, comprises a rigid framework including upstanding members 2, 4 inter-connected at or near their upper ends by transverse members 24 which are at least partly inclined to the horizontal, and which support plastics simulated twigs. The transverse members may have horizontal portions 24A, and may carry elongate horizontal twig holders 34, 36 thereacross having holes to receive the stems of twigs; alternatively the transverse members may carry an apertured tray to receive the twigs. A resilient bumper 56 may be attached to the barrier, as shown, and may comprise a polyurethane foam core covered by a plastics sheet. [GB1395715A]
