1320311 Upholstery RIGBYS OF PORTSMOUTH Ltd J RIGBY and J B RIGBY 11 June 1970 [13 June 1969] 30091/69 Heading A4M A seat or bed comprises a flexible diaphragm 12, e.g. of rubber, stretched across a border frame 19 and secured thereto, the diaphragm 12 having a continuous peripheral lip 13 engaged in a recess 20 in the frame and at least one rib 23 on its underside engaged with an intermediate frame bar 22 extending across the border frame 19 to define two or more seat or like load bearing surfaces. The lip 13 may be secured by staples driven through a thickened end 14 of the lip 13. Additional framework members may overlie the lip 13 to hold it on the frame.
