[Also in Division A5] A novel solid complex of a herbicidal bipyridylium quaternary salt with urea or thiourea, having the formula X(A) n (H 2 O) m in which X represents a herbicidal bipyridylium salt, A represents urea or thiourea, n is 1, 2 or 4 and m is an integer from 0 to 4, is prepared by mixing urea or thiourea with a solution of a herbicidal bipyridilium salt in which the concentration of bipyridilium cation is at least 10% w/v. at temperatures between 0‹-100‹ C [GB1216193A]
