[Also in Division G2] Pyrazolo-pyrimidine derivatives having the general formula wherein R is a substituted or unsubstituted (C 1 -C 12 ) alkyl, aryl, cycloalkyl, triazinyl or pyrimidinyl group are used as anti-bronzing agents in photographic layers. Example describes the preparation of 1-phenyl-4,6-dimercapto (3,4-d)-pyrazolo-pyrimidine by reacting 1- phenyl - 4 - cyano - 5 - aminopyrazole with potassium xanthate in butanol.
