Abstract

These solutions contain 15% w/v of paracetamole and 0.375 or 0.750% w/v of codeine (in form of phosphoric or sulphuric salt) in a system of dissolvents consisting of about 50% v/v of glycerol formal, 10% v/v of ethanol and water, as much as is needed for a volume of 4 ml (about 40% v/v). These solutions also contain lidocaine, disodium edetate, sodium metabisulfite and sodium dibasic phosphate, which ensure the stability and the conservation of the pH of the solution (4.0 - 6.0).
