998,025. Space heating or cooling apparatus. SVENSKA FLAKTFABRIKEN A.B. Jan. 24, 1962 [Jan. 27, 1961], No. 2695/62. Heading F4S. Means adapted to heat or cool ventilating air supplied to a room comprises a tube coil to which heating or cooling medium is supplied as appropriate and which includes a valve 4 actuated by means 6, 7 sensitive to the temperature of the medium as it enters the heat exchanger for controlling flow of the medium through a by-pass 5. The arrangement is such that when medium at one temperature level is being supplied (e.g. for cooling), the whole of the heat exchange surface is utilized; and when medium at another temperature level is being supplied (e.g. for heating) part of the heat exchange surface is by-passed.
