Abstract
997,455. Converting. MATERIEL ELECTRIQUE S.W. March 15, 1963 [May 24, 1962], No. 10326/63. Heading H2F. The operation of an inverter having transistors T1-T4 connected in a bridge circuit and provided with means 5-8 for applying control signals to the transistors is controlled by means of biasing signals which determine the times at which condution in each direction is permitted. The biasing currents are provided by R1, C1 through Zener diodes Z1, Z2 to fire controlled rectifiers 15, 16 at the appropriate times (which can be adjusted by varying R1 (whereupon the transistor T4 or T2 associated with the rectifier fired is rendered conductive by a control signal then existing in winding 8 or 6 and current flows in the appropriate direction through output circuit 3, 4. The square wave control and the biasing signals may be provided by a transistor inverter incorporating a saturated transformer having windings 5-10. If the output voltage or current exceeds a permitted value controlled rectifier T7 is fired to stop the inverter. Diodes D1-D4 are said to prevent surges due to operation with reactive loads.
