Abstract

996,771. Sawing. HIGH DUTY SAWS Ltd. Dec. 17, 1963 [Oct. 19, 1962], No. 39589/62. Heading B5L. A saw blade is characterized in that successive teeth 12a, 12b, 12c set to one side of the blade are arranged in groups in which the degree of set increases from the leading end of the group to its trailing end, and successive teeth set to the other side of the blade are arranged in a similar manner. The teeth of each group may occupy successive portions along the blade without the teeth of another group intervening between them as shown in Fig. 2, or successive teeth of one group may alternate with those of another group as shown in Fig. 4. Unset teeth may be located between the groups. Each group may contain two, three, four or more teeth and the increase in set of the teeth in each group may not be uniform. The blade may be in the form of a band or as used in hacksaws or handsaws of the cross-cut, ripping or tenon type.
