Abstract
Shaped articles are produced by shaping an intimate mixture of from 70 to 95% by weight of a polymer of vinyl chloride with complementarily from 5 to 30% by weight of styrene, and subjecting the shaped mixture to high energy ionizing radiation to induce interpolymerization of the styrene. The example describes mixing styrene and polyvinyl chloride, moulding bars from the mixture and irradiating them by exposure to a cobalt-60 source. Specifications 996,641 and 996,643 are referred to.
